My wife did the same thing in high school before she met me. She said she liked the attention and that was the first boy that paid any attention to her.
It is a total attention thing.

It is all about status, power, popularity, and social rank within a given group of people- in this case, the student body at your school. Many people believe that if they hang with or go out with the big cheese, that some of that power and status will rub off on them. And those folks- blinded by the desire to be "high-falutin"- will, in the process, ignore reality in the pursuit of high status. In your particular case, that girl ignored the cheating incidents in an attempt to be popular or cool. I wouldn't be surprised, in all honesty, if his cheating partners were after the same thing your friend was- popularity and status.

uh, I would say, increases her popularity, she thinks!! Makes her look popular , raises her self esteem, gets her towards other popular guys,and has actually no self esteem, very insecure, and probably puts out big time to keep them coming back!! No worrys about her, and don't worry about the Jock either, cause he is just using these girls and jocks are really little boys with a big attitude who end up being ******* and 10 year reunion they look fat , are on welfare, joined a rock band and are not soooo popular anymore!!

It's not always about being stupid. Some women and even some men are led by their hearts not their heads. While what he did to her was wrong and most sensible women would walk way, she may love him and forgive him for what he did. It's hard to judge someone in that situation.

they are trying for the status they get by being with the alpha male. They assume that they will be top girl in that school.

Cuz sometimes they love someone even though they dont love them back. Maybe one day the person thats right for them will come.

Its because that think that if they go out with them then they will become cool. they will be popular and get attention. they just want to be better then everyone else and get whatever they want.
