What do you guys think about seduction experts like Mystery of VH1's Pickup Artist and Tommy Orlando, the guy who wrote Player's Handbook?

Are these guys for real or just playing a cruel joke on lonely men?

It's funny that you mention Tommy Orlando. I've been dating a guy for a few weeks and I really like him a lot. Over the weekend, I was hanging out at his place and was looking through his bookshelf. I saw his copy of the Tommy Orlando book "The Player's Guide" and I started to tease him about it. Then he told me he used some of the suggestions in the book when he hit on me. OMG! I was surprised because I thought I would NEVER go for a guy who was into the whole "seduction" thing. But here we are...

So, to answer your question, I think these guys are for real. Some may be trying to make money by telling insecure guys they can hook up with supermodels, but I think there are authors out there (like Tommy Orlando seems to be) who really do want to help men connect with women.

It's like anything else in marketing. You have to be authentic and communicate a complete, consistent image that's appealing to the target audience.

One book of tips may give you some useful ideas and insight, but it won't be a success manual.
