The truth never hurts but if he shows and things aren't right then he is going to wonder what is isn't right,so tell him you didn't think it would go this far and that threes nothing else that you ha vent been honest about. He will understand if not its a waste of your time and energy.I would understand.Good Luck

I am a couple months shy of turning 21 but I know exactly what you are talking about. Something similar happened to me. My friend and I had talked for a little over three years and when I first started talking I didnt tell him exactly how I looked. I told him a little white lie also. I never thought I would meet the guy and we ended up talking for three years and I completely forgot that I told him all that and one day I decided to tell him the truth. I just told him this: I need to tell you something, when we first started talking I told you a little white lie because I never thought we would become this close and now I want to set the record strait. So I told him the truth and we are even closer friends now than when we were before. If your friend is truly a friend. Good luck and I hope things work out for you.

I think i would tell him the truth. If he is interested he will show up anyway. He may not be what you expected also. I think that probably a lot of people may tell this kind of white lie to empress, then be sorry later. If he is a nice guy he will know this for himself. Mabey you could send him a picture of a full body shot before he arrives (if you have time) Good luck

Well if i was the guy i wouldn't care, even though im very very tall. But should u tell him? Yes. Or u could say u got stuck in the wash...lol....!!! I'd like to know why this particular lie was put out there. You know, I've never heard this one. Anyway, I'd say, 'what would u say if there was something that wasn't exactly true that ive told u'? U aren't short so it's not a total lie. If he bails i think he's got a problem. Really. Then ask him if there's something he'd like to tell u. Good luck babe. Wear heels.....just jokin!!!

Well....He obviously likes you for who you are inside. But, he could want the whole package and since you have been feeding him lies about your body, this could be a big problem? Just tell the truth that your not what you say you are and end this lie now. It will be a let down for him.....Maybe??? Good Luck And Don't Play Next Time Around....Be Yourself.

If he's seen pictures of you he's probably figured it out, full body shots or not.
It doesn't matter. You've been talking on the net for three years, you know each other well enough to forgive a little white
lie. Just give it to him straight,I bet he just laughs and doesn't give it a second thought. It's you as a person he likes, not your
fictional body.
If I'm wrong,it's better to know beforehand anyway.

That's the problem with lies...no matter how small or how "white" they are, they still carry the impact of big fat hairy whoppers. If that weren't the case, you wouldn't be feeling anxiety right now. Its a forgivable situation, but go ahead and tell him now to avoid awkward moments later on. Incidentally, what was so wrong with being 5'7" that you felt you needed to embellish it?

Tell him the truth...it may change his plans on coming down, but at least he knows the truth. I doubt he would have a problem with it, because he knows you for you. What you look like shouldn't matter. Just try and make fun of yourself for being silly a few years back. You were caught in the moment.

Tell him the truth, its not so bad, just tell him like you told us, that in the beginning, before you knew him, you fibbed. Tell him that over the course of 3 years you've lied about nothing else and shrunk 4 inches.
If telling him you fibbed about your height causes him to change his plans, then clearly those 3 years meant nothing to him, those 4 inches did.
My bf was in a relationship for 2 years, setting to get married and told me that "oops, he saw my name written down, and he says it wrong, i have never corrected him" So, she had that moment, told him, they laughed it off and got married. Didn't last but trust me, her name had nothing to do with it.
