sorry i know its a gross question. i always see on medicine boxes do not use if you have mucus in your stool? how can you tell? is it fairly obvious? i mean is it the same/ does it look the same as the stuff in your nose? here is why i worry. i am only 26 but am a retired heavy drinker. i know i have burnt the insides of my stomach so i quit earlier than later. just lookin for some info to be aware of. thanks.

Yes, it's pretty obvious.
As with all these things, unluckily, you have to have a look.
Is there a 'film' of mucas surrounding the stool. You'll know for definate after 'wiping'.

I too had a bad cold / influenza a week or two ago and that seemed to clear up - but then got headache / sore throat and, like you, I started to get clear mucus and diarrhoea last friday - doc thinks I have a form of Viral Gastritis - but not on any antibiotics - she has prescribed something for the stomach cramps caused by the diarrhoea. Getting very very slowly better, but still have the mucus in stools and that needs checking as it is a sign of bowel problems (such as coeliacs / crohns / cancer). Guess where I'll be in the morning if it hasn't cleared up??! Try not to get too worried about it - but go back to your doctor if things don't improve in a week.

I think it's very obvious. My friend has IBS and that's one of the symptoms. It's very clear that something other than stool is exiting the rear. Still i'm no doctor. Try web md.com

u can see it, and u can feel it wen u have bowel movements, it will feel greasier and u should be able to see it on the outsides

when you wipe usually it is in your feces it kind of looks like snot yes it is fairly obvious
