What you are describing is concerning.
Be prepared to do senior blood work (it has a t4 and free t4 included in it),urinalysis and a feline heart worm test.
When a cat drinks and pees alot you must consider kidney disease, diabetes or hyperthyroidism.
If kidney damage has occured the urinalysis and bloodwork will demostrate to what extent.
If its an infection iv antibiotics and fluids will help.
If its kidney failure your cat has a poor prognosis.
Diabetes and hyperthyroidism is managable with medication.
Unfortunately it sounds more involved than a hairball so going to the vet is of the utmost importance.

Please let us know how your cat makes out
I wish your cat well

Go to the vet asap. Weight loss could be diabetes. If he's drinking a lot, it very well may be. But constant vomiting is a bad sign. Get him checked out. Have the vet check his blood sugar, unless you have the stuff to do it.

I have a diabetic cat, he gets insulin injections every day, it's a pain , but managable. I knew something was wrong when lost a lot of weight and drank tons of h20. Take care of your kitty.

By the time you realize a difference to your cat's conduct the cat has been in misery for relatively a while. No solution to inform what is incorrect of direction, vomiting is a symptom of many matters, viable poisoning. The analysis demands to made via the veterinarian. To do? Go external and get the cat into the condominium. Take the cat in to the veterinarian ASAP.

This sounds exactly like what happened to my friend's cat, and at the same time. What kind of canned food and/or kibble are you feeding him? My friend's cat was diagnosed with intestinal cancer. I can't help but think it might have been some ingredient imported from China in one of the catfoods. He feeds her Fancy Feast canned and Whiska's kibble. I feed mine Fancy Feast canned and Promise brand organic kibble. I haven't had any problems at all with my three cats, or the three feral kitties outside that eat the same stuff my cats do, so I don't think there's a problem with the Fancy Feast or the organic kibble.

What you're describing can be anything from chronic or repeated hairball obstruction of the bowel, hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, diabetes, and cancer (yes, as young as he is he still may have a cancer).

Please definitely have your vet take a look and get some blood and urine.

hI'm sorry you waited so long, if you had those symptoms you would be in the hospital. He has fiv which is feline aids and a slow death. The virus can live in the house for a year so no new Kitty's for that long.
Wash every thing he likes to sit on that's his. Throw away his toys and litter pan if he doesn't come home. Did you ever get him his shots when he was a baby? It would have been prevented. Did you let him outside of the house? outside really is not a good thing where he can pick up things like this and get killed or kill other creatures.
Vets are for a reason and if it is a living being in your house, it deserves better.

He could have thyroid issues or diabetes. Both are treatable and diagnosed with an exam and labwork. Make sure he keeps eating, or you could find yourself with bigger problems, like hepatic lipidosis, which is very nasty. Take him to the vet as soon as you can.

If he is drinking and peeing alot, the most likely reason is diabetes. This is not a death sentence and is very treatable and your cat can live a long happy life.
Unfortunately, many vets are not up to date on treatment and some vet's treatments can be dangerous. Please read my profile and have your mom contact me if it is diabetes as I can help you both learn to treat this correctly.

Please change the food to canned foods wothout gravy.

with all the symptoms you have described it seems you have a really poorly cat, if he is not eating or able to keep down what he does eat, his body is not getting any nourishment. You really need to get him seen by a vet ASAP.

My cat had similar symptoms and it turned out to be a blockage ( not hairball)
