Probably

We went through this last year. I had to stop work because of pregnancy related illness and our Mortgage insurance wouldn't cover us as it excluded pregnancy-related conditions. We fell behind with our mortgage payments. When we went to the council (me heavily pregnant) we were told we'd be seen as "intentionally homeless" and dumped in a Bed & Breakfast for 6 weeks whilst we saved up the deposit for a rip off private rented flat.

Luckily Shelter came to court with us and managed to get the repossession stopped for a few months until my mum in law came through with a loan to pay off the arrears. No help from the Council at all though, they'd have happily seen a newborn baby with nowhere to live.

However, the local Housing Associations round here rent the majority of their houses to asylum seekers. One woman I know who works for a major local housing association admits that the only people who get their properties these days are Somali immigrants. Great eh?

You need to learn to live below your means and not expect there to be someone or some organization to catch you when you fall. If I knew all of your finances and location I could help you with a budget but I'm sure you can figure one out if you try. There are ALWAYS jobs to be had. Rake leaves, mow grass. Minimum wage is better than nothing. Wash cars. See if a local church has some work you can do for some extra cash along with asking family members and friends. You have options. Keep your head up and make something happen. Good luck!

If you are seen as 'vulnerable' yes you will get housed. These people that are saying get a job, have they noticed house prices etc., What future is there for any normal Brit to have a decent life here, it's not really possible is it.
You can work until yr blue in the face but the mortgage would still be too high - so NOW what have school kids got to look forward to here? It's ridiculous

just come back into the country, stand on a street corner, say your a Muslim and preach death hate and poison to all who pass by. i garentee you'l have a council house a huge fat furniture grant and an army of free lawyers to fill in your social security forms by the end of your first day. within a month youl be a labour party candidate for your area and able to fiddle your own votes......youl SOON!! see the wonderfull side of Britain from that! side of the fence.

You should have done something earlier to get the mortgage people off your backs.

If your unemployed then you should have filled in the appropriate paperwork to get the mortgage company to put a hold on your payments.

You realise that you will still be liable for mortgage payments after the repo...

You won't get housed, immigrants aren't entitled to free housing unless they are asylum seekers who have been granted indefinite leave to remain.

How do you know you would be allowed to re-enter the UK ? Why would we want you ? Sorry that's answering a question with a question (well two if we have to be accurate). Presumably the fact that your house is being repossessed has nothing to do with you.

Should you not have spoken to your mortgage company before things got this bad ?

Blaming immigrants won't help you I'm afraid.
