Kitty is only 5-6 weeks old, but i am planning a one night trip... at what age is it alright to leave her in a safe room with a snuggly bed, toys, and lots of food and water?

boyfriend and i are home throughout the day to play with her and be with her...
the over night trip isnt for over a month.. and doesnt have to be (its only in planning stages)
-just curious to know how old she should be before we do leave her alone

So you got this VERY young kitten and you and the boyfriend are hardly home and already you want to leave the kitten overnight????

Is she really 5 to 6 weeks old or have you had her for 5 to 6 weeks. Because kittens can't be sold or taken away from their mother until 8 weeks of age.
Anyways, as long as the cat has a litter box and plenty of food and water, it will be just fine. They don't need someone there with them constantly like dogs do.

At 5-6 wks, she should still be nursing! I wouldn't leave her alone for overnight, cause she needs to eat more often, and shouldn't be eating dry food, yet, anyway. Don't you have someone who can "babysit" her, for one night? That's what I'd do, if I had to be away overnight. Little kittens who don't eat often enough, can get really sick very quickly! NO! cats need tons of love. dont leave her unless she is with an adult cat whom she love and that they get along

She'll probably be ok now to leave just for one night. She'll sleep most of the time anyway.

she shouldn't be away from her mom yet. not till she's 8 weeks old.

i think she will be fine. make sure you leave her lots of food in water..just in case!
