They're making both a fully electric and plug-in hybrid version of their car. The electric version can go 120 miles per charge, the plug-in will be able to go 40-60 miles purely on electric power before switching to gas/electric mode.

The really impressive thing is that both models will cost $30,000 (or less), and supposedly be available next year. That means Aptera could possibly have the first affordable long-range high-speed EV (in competition with the ZAP Alias and Miles Javlon), and an equivalent to the Chevy Volt, but 2 years earlier.
Anyone ever heard of this company before? I'm shocked that I'd never heard of them before today, as an alternative fueled vehicles buff.

Rationality - it's a 3-wheeled car which will be classified as a motorcycle. Same as the ZAP Alias.

Due to its spaceship-like design

the Aptera cars have a drag coefficient of around 0.11 - less than half the drag coefficient of the Prius (0.26). That's impressive.
