Don't answer this question with an argument as to why you think you are right...answer the question as I present it...what if you're wrong?

What if I'm wrong?! Then I lived a fun, fulfilling life of love towards others because of my belief that this life is bigger than myself. I die and that's it. I still live a great life and the end is just...the end. If you're wrong...eternity is a long time to pay for such a mistake. I'd rather risk my 80 years, than risk eternity. There's my answer in reverse.

What if you're wrong?

I will continue to live my life helping others. If God exists and he is more interested in me worshipping Him than in me helping others, then I would not be interested in any rewards He has in store for me.

This question is like asking me what would I do if I could fly, or walk through walls, or become invisible. You can't ask a hypothetical question to something that can't be proven or disproven. We will all find out that answer when we die.

I used to believe, I don't anymore, but I still live my life according to the Christian values that I was raised with. Now I know, that according to Christianity, that the reason we are here on Earth is to adore god. Nothing else matters. We have to adore god in our thoughts and actions, in our interactions with each other, and in the solitude of our own homes. We must never deny our adoration for god, and we must defend god with our very lives, if need be, because nothing on Earth matters more than our love for god. See the Book of Job.

That type of adoration and love only comes from understanding. God can't fault us for "misunderstanding" or ignorance. Speculating on what he would do, is dangerously close to placing judgment, which god strictly forbade repeatedly throughout the bible.

This question, seeks to either judge or have us judge ourselves, in which case I redirect to you, what if you're Right and there is a god, what are you going to do, knowing that you've disobeyed him repeatedly AND you believed. Meaning you knew what you were doing, and you did it anyway?

That's a far bleaker outcome, than the one we face, if we were wrong.

I believe that god is a theory, a theory among many, and a theory I choose not to accept. As with any theory, I need evidence, and the evidence of god is not sufficient, at least not for me.

If i'm wrong and there is a god, he will understand that i am a product of my environment and that its not quite my fault that i dont believe in him.

I mean, if he really is god, if would have wanted me to find him, he would have made it happen right?

And on top of that, the one you call god should be a loving, forgiving, and compassionate being. You really think such a being would send you to an ETERNITY of torment?

If iwas to be wrong then by Christianity laws I would go to hell. In which case I would be joined by most christians as well as they are hipocrits who pick and chose what to follow. Also I'm going to diregard your request not ot start an argument and say that there were originally many more religous books for christians to follow that were conveniently not chosen to be part of the christian religous writings. What makes those books less holy than the other may I ask. And think about what information could have been in those books if they are holy that could have dictated how you should really be acting religously? What if you're sealed a fate to H3ll by not acting in religous ways that were given in those books? Just a little something to make you think. Also remember that you made your decision in infancy please reexamin your choice as a mature adult using evidence.
Thank you

Ahh the Blaise Pascal argument. Richard Dawkins discusses that in his book, "The God Delusion"...

"Why in any case, do we so readily accept the idea that the one thing you must do if you want to please God is BELIEVE in him? What's so special about believing? Isn't it more likely that God would reward kindness, or generosity, or humility? Or sincerity? What if God is a scientist who regards honest seeking after truth as the supreme virtue? Indeed, wouldn't the designer of the universe have to be a scientist? Bertrand Russell was asked what he would say if he died and found himself confronted by God, demanding to know why Russell had not believed in him. 'Not enough evidence', God, not enough evidence' was Russell's reply. Mightn't God respect Russell for his courageous skepticism? Would you bet on God's valuing dishonestly faked belief (or even honest belief) over honest skepticism?
It could be said that you will lead a better, fuller lifeif you bet on his not existing, than if you bet on his existing and therefore squander your precious time on worshipping him, sacrificing to him, fighting and dying for him, etc." -Richard Dawkins "The God Delusion".

I couldn't have said it better myself.

I will burn in hell forever ;)

No, seriously, I believe that if I am wrong, then the big man himself will know that I dont need to believe in him to try and be a good man.

I work hard, I love my family, I live to make them proud, I care about my friends a lot.

There are many religous people out there who preach but do not practise.

If I am wrong in my personal beliefs, and there is a god, then when it comes to my judgement, I believe I will be fine.

Im no longer arguing your remark i merely don't understand why God the almighty does no longer provide atheists a demonstration of his exsistence. I advise religionites will blame the devil and that i understand that yet there are countless atheists available that commit severely much less amont of sins than gung ho bible friends do. so that they are much less qualified to bypass to heaven? those that help the undesirable and have faith in time-honored good huminanitrion deeds will burn in hearth and brimstone by way of fact they do no longer bypass to a synthetic construction each and every Sunday? shall we forget approximately Darwinism and all different theroys and merely think of roughly it rationally. Why is "God" so worried along with your everburning allegiance to him? He created you... he has the potential to make you suspect in an prompt if her particularly wanted. Your telling me that my techniques (which he created) has the capasity to have doubts approximately him while he shows no functional info of latest? and you pick accountable it on the devil? i do no longer commit homicide, or lie, and manage different with the upmost understand yet I could nonetheless be apprehensive? Why might God almighty play those style of video games? If the devil ought to administration me to no longer have faith totally, why does no longer god counter that? and regardless of if God could no longer for some reason might the devil merely reason me to have doubts quite than making me kill human beings or sit down on a highway corner with a demonstration denouncing God? merely enjoying devils advise.

I'll go to Hell with all the fun people. I'd rather be there than with that sadistic psycho you guys like anyway.

Why follow a belief "just in case?" That's pretty pointless.

Then I'll take responsibility for my actions and accept any punishment that is handed down.

One might also ask what if God doesn't let into Heaven those who use Pascal's Wager (believing "just in case") as reason for believing in God.

Well then I will be with the rest of my friends. Wouldn't want to be in "heaven" with Christians anyway. What if you picked the wrong god though. How would you fell and what would you do?
