Hi im going to put my body into state of ketosis and eat nothing at all and only drink water for 4 weeks solid. Stupid i know and probably bad for me in the long term but i want tolose 3-4 stones in 5 weeks. I will only drink water. Does anyone have any links to websites for starving yourself. I am going to consume vitamins and minerals. I am male aged 25 and i am 5ft 11inches. I believe i will be able to lose this weight as i lost 3 stone in 4 weeks on Cambridge diet/lighterlife programme but simply cant afford to keep it going. I know i should eat less, exercise more etc etc but i can starve myself and dont feel hungry, could i possibly go from 18st to 14st by starving myself. I know starving is stupid but im doing it regardless, just need to know the safest way. Once imin ketosis i will continue to burn fat. Does anyone thinki will be able to do it. I have read alot on ketosis and this is what im going to do. Eatin is all in he mind. I want o lose this weight for xmas.

Bad Idea. Bad bad bad.

You want to loose weight for christmas cut down on what you eat. Starving yourself you will just lose muscle mass.

you will end up looking a state.

Your life, but if you must do this see your doctor and get monitored as it goes on. please.

If you want to lose weight, the best way to do it is eat a healthy diet and do plenty of exercise - at least 3 times a week. If you starve yourself, your body will realise it isn't getting enough, so it will store more as fat, meaning that you will actually put on weight, not lose it. Eat a healthy diet with plenty of protein (from meat) and fruit and veg.
My mate was told by a fitness trainer that she needed to eat more (but of a balenced diet) before she could actually lose weight.
To help keep a balenced diet, keep a diary of what you eat each day. Look up some of the RDAs and so on...
Hope you manage to lose some weight in a better way than starving yourself. =]

Hello,

(ANS) Frankly, thats the most absurd reason and most absurd way to loose weight I have ever heard of.

No.1 You WON'T loose weight by starvation alone in the time your talking about.

No.2 Total starvation if taken to an extreme without a very good reason behind it, can actually do long term damage to your health & body. Frankly, this is utterly crazy and is 100% NOT the way to loose weight.

Being Realistic!!
**If you want to loose weight the only way to do it is slowly over a prolonged period of time. You should use both a balanced diet but perhaps reduced portion size and in addition to this you should increase your weekly excercise levels.

**First law of thermo-dynamics applies here:- energy in must equal energy out. However, if energy input is greater than energy output then weight is gained. And if energy output is greater than energy input weight loss results.

**The faster you loose weight the faster you will regain it once again. This is why trendy diets like Atkins don't work. If weight loss is very fast (as in fasting) your body goes into a state of survival mode because it unconsciously feels threatened (life is at risk) as soon as the threat is removed the body tries to re balance itself hence weight gain again.

Starvation DON'T DO IT!!

PS:- I am talking from past experience, my longest fasting was 3weeks and I lost almost no weight in the process, a very few pounds.

Extremely dangerous. Don't do it...just reduce your calories by 500 and exercise more frequently. The most you days you can have without water is three. The most time you can go without eating is about a month. You may die if you undergo this starvation diet.

Also, you will be losing fat and muscle..and your bones will most likely become brittle which will affect you later in life IF you survive this diet. Also, increases in risk for several other diseases.

You know that when you stop eating your body goes into a starvation mode, and actually will stop burning calories. You are much better off to eat 6 very small meals a day and you will lose more weight that way. Remember to drink alot of water, that's one of the main keys to weight loss. And yes, you are right about it being dangerous. Do not do this...

You say you are going to eat nothing and drink just water for 4 weeks regardless of what anyone says. But you want to know if we can tell you the safest way of doing it?

I'm not sure there are any 'safe' ways of going about drinking only water for 4 weeks!

Yes that is a stupid idea, we both agree.

When you eat nothing, your body's metabolism slows down burning less calories and fat to prevent weight loss. A MUCH better idea is to eat salad with no dressing and maybe broccoli, bean sprouts or string beans in small amounts.

Oh no! Dont do this! Lets play a little game of Coke or Pepsi, shall we?

Would you rather:
1) Lose Weight in a HEALTHY way?
or
2) Lose Weight in a horrible way that you die so that no one will be able to see your new hot body anyway?

All that will happen is severe loss in muscle mass or much worse. Exercise is boring and hard but just stick with it.
