The cars looked the same long before the COT was ever implemented. Could you tell a Ford from a Chevy yesterday if it wasn't for the "headlights?"
The COT is safer for the drivers, and that's the most important thing. From what I've seen, it makes for some good racing as well. It certainly takes more of a beating than the old cars, which is a good thing. It may be tougher to drive, but these drivers are the best in the business.
If you quit watching strictly because of the COT, you quit watcing for the wrong reason.

I like them.
The front end looks like a real car instead of some swoopy funny car. I like the spoiler's in the rear better but face it, this is "stock car" racing and no new cars come with a spoiler. They all have wings now. If you don't believe me go stand next to a road and look at the cars going by.
Stop blaming Nascar for everything. Global economy forced the good 'ol 2 door family sedan out of the showrooms. Ford finally threw in the towel so Nascar had to bend over backwards to keep Ford in by finally allowing 4-doors with the Taurus which led to Dodge's return with an Intrepid.
The car companies simply can't afford to build a Nascar specific model like the old day's. Period. Bill France had nothing to do with it. The ONLY way Nascar could survive is to appease the automakers and relax the body configuration rules.
"STOCK" is an acronym for the 'type' of car's they race. Full body car's resembling production car's that weigh 3400 pounds just like the real stock production car. Yes, true "stock" has been gone since the mid '50's. Get over it.
Stadtwerbung's comment about Nascar's technology not even being close to F1's in the 90's is hilarious! THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF NASCAR.
The France's have fought tooth and nail to keep technology out of the car's to put the competition in the hands of the driver. The day Nascar quits using Holley carb's, MSD boxes and long arm suspension's derived from a '69 Chevy truck and starts using $150,000 steering wheels is the day I'm out!
Until then, don't let the door hit you in the *** on the way out.

I think Nascar is becoming too "commercialized." It's not fair, there are too many rules, and it is so political. Just let the boys get out there and race like in the old days of Richard Petty. Whoever has the best car and whoever is the best driver wins.

They are still racing, and thats all I care about.
The cars are identical now, and isnt that what we want? Wasnt it 10-15 years ago, we had Ford complaining about Chevy having certain advantages, Chevy complaining right back, and Pontiac having what seemed like very disadvantage?

Butt ugly looking.
The COT is still behind formula one of the early 1990s in technology.
Real ugly.
Every other racing series has screwed itself up and makes it no longer enjoyable to watch. The COT is nascars way of putting off fans.

Um....yea....like the first guy said, all the cars looked the same before anyway. I lost interest in NASCAR a long time ago. The "stock" in stockcar has been missing of a long time.

the COT bites a s s!!!! It is slow, clunky and uninspiring. I applaud the effort to make it safe as possible for the drivers but I hate the COT.
However I am more disturbed by the insurgence of nonAmerican cars (toyota) likely to be followed by honda, nissan, more rice wagon manufacturers. Who cares if there are "toyotas made in the USA" (darrell waltrip) it's still japanese manufacturer. So much for the "American tradition".

I have no real sympathy for you. It's been stupid for teams to have a small fleet of cars just to compete and besides, the safety innovations are needed.
It hasn't been REAL stock in many, many years.
Still racing's racing.

It has now become the IROC for the 21st century. I used to watch, I have even been to a couple of races, but until they stop calling it NASCAR and start call it "The International Association of Same Car Auto Racing" (those of you who are aware that Toyota is technically not an American Car will understand) I am mostly disinterested.
