JFK was assassinated while in office. You didn't hear about it? It made all the papers.

Like Judaism, a faith with a very long history, Catholicism has developed cultural as well as religious aspects. Thus one can claim to be Catholic in the cultural sense while not really living up to the moniker in a religious sense.
JFK's public life was not necessarily one that followed Catholic tenets - his suspected marital infidelity most prominently. Ideologically, he did profess a strong leaning towards social justice, although I'm not sure his voting record would bear this out.
As Christianity (whether you consider yourself Catholic, non-Catholic, or without a label) is an internal matter, a good biography should be consulted.

Other than hearing many times that he attended mass, I don't have any recall of specific things he did to demonstrate the fact of being Catholic. A sizable portion of the country was concerned because of his faith. That concern proved unnecessary. His beautiful wife, Jackie, captivated much the same as Princess Diana did. Every photo op showed the family very well dressed.
One of the scariest periods of history was the time of his office. During the Cuban missile crisis everyone was encouraging him to launch a pre-emptive strike on the Soviet Union. His refusal to follow advice prevented a holocaust. I woke up one morning to find the streets eerily deserted. Nearly all the ships stationed at Norfolk, Virginia had set sail for Cuba.
There was scandal, sure. But much like today it didn't seem to stick to the family. It was quite a political machine.

Did you just ask if the assassinated President John F. Kennedy is still a catholic?
Did you also just ask if Catholics and Christianity are two different kinds of religion?
WOW!

I wonder whether the question "what has so-and-so done to demonstrate his Catholic faith?" isn't one that only God should ask. . . .?
I say this because, although the question need not necessarily indicate that one is judging a fellow human being, it could be that line of questioning might start you down that road. And that would not be a good road to start down . . .

Uh, he's been dead for a long time.
He was a Catholic.
And, by the way, Catholics are also Christians. Any religion that follows the teaching of Christ is considered Christian.
You should know that.
