okay, so i have heard that the PS3 has and does not have Wirelss(wifi) router in it so no wireless accesibility. both i have heard on the PS3 website as well on other sites. can somebody who owns a 40GB PS3 and is connected to the internet (via wirelss) confirm this for me. thanks,

All but the 20GB version has Wi-Fi..

check out my source, about mid my down is a chart with all the different PS3's show what has what.

The ps3 has wifi. But you have to have your own wireless hub (router) usually supplied by your internet service provider which transmitt the internet signal to the ps3 wifi in order to use the WIFI. Some people life in Hotspots where the ps3 can pick up a wfif signal that's not password protected and connect that way even though the person doesn't have internet themselves. .

otherwise you have to ethernet cable to the router agian supplied by your internet service provider.

I don't own the 40GB PS3, I have the 60GB PS3 but I know what I'm talking about.

All of the PS3's have built in WiFi except for the 20GB version. The 40GB PS3 does have built in WiFi.
