A church that puts Jesus Christ first and foremost. A church that teaches only what is in the Bible and encourages its attendees to study for themselves. A church that isn't hung up on doctrine or legalism. A church that truly follows the teachings of Jesus Christ, and strongly supports mission work and humanitarian work, not just out in the world but also in the neighborhood. A church that teaches the entire Bible, not just certain verses or gospels.

Well it used to be the churches of Christ before the Boston Church did what it did and before Max Lucado.

A church that strive to be biblical will speak only where the bible speaks and stay silent where the bible is silent. research on church history helps. For instance before adding that piano or even claim God does not care do research as to why early Christians did not use these things until 600 years after Christ.

Ask is this commanded? Is it in the New Testament. Bible believing churches are autonomous in government, no cred but the bible, pastors are elders because that is what they were in the Bible yes pastors can be preachers but not all preachers are pastors. The word reverend is not given to man and is only used when referring to God. Baptism is essential to salvation they will not teach once saved always saved nor will they teach that you are saved first then baptized. I could go on, but if a church adds to or takes away from the bible then it is not a bile believing church and only teaching for doctrine the commandments of men.

Churches that do not follow the bible produce people who judge others and if someone leaves Christianity they judge the persons heart and motives which according to scripture is reserved only for God to do by saying that person was never a Christian.

Any Christian Church which tends to quote from the Bible in detail and explains the Scriptures.

Some pastors who do this include Bishop T.D. Jakes, Rod Parsley, John Hagee, Oral Roberts, Perry Stone, and Frederick K.C. Price.

There are many pastors who simply wander from quoting Scriptures and discuss other things. Some large non-profit Churches do not really believe in the Bible at all including the European Catholic Churches which have replaced the Bible with period declarations from Italy.

Good criteria for a local New Testament Church has a congregation that believe in the Bible literally, teaches the Bible literally and preaches the Bible literally. Any other interpretaion of the Bible is out of hell. God chose His words carefully and if you think you can tell God what HE wrote than do it. I do not care, I did not write the Bible you will not answer to me for it.

Look for the church that preaches the Bible.

Seek the fellowship that has sound doctrine, proclaims the whole counsel of God's Word, and sincerely lifts up the Lord Jesus Christ in worship and in all they do.

Much of this can be discovered by observation, but most fellowships have a printed statement of their doctrines they will provide to you upon request.

For clarity, you can speak with the pastor or leadership about their beliefs or practices.

I believe a good Bible-believing church should go by the King James Bible. The Pastor should have felt God put him in the ministry too. The church should also be a fundamental, non-denominational church too.

• We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, sufficient, and authoritative Word of God.

• We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

• We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

How about the Church that GAVE YOU THE BIBLE: The Catholic Church

Among the Christian churches, only the Catholic Church has existed since the time of Jesus. Every other Christian church is an offshoot of the Catholic Church. The Eastern Orthodox churches broke away from unity with the pope in 1054. The Protestant churches were established during the Reformation, which began in 1517. (Most of today’s Protestant churches are actually offshoots of the original Protestant offshoots.) Only the Catholic Church existed in the tenth century, in the fifth century, and in the first century, faithfully teaching the doctrines given by Christ to the apostles, omitting nothing.

Jesus’ Church is called catholic ("universal" in Greek) because it is his gift to all people. He told his apostles to go throughout the world and make disciples of "all nations" (Matt. 28:19–20). For 2,000 years the Catholic Church has carried out this mission, preaching the good news that Christ died for all men and that he wants all of us to be members of his universal family (Gal. 3:28). Nowadays the Catholic Church is found in every country of the world and is still sending out missionaries to "make disciples of all nations" (Matt. 28:19). The Church Jesus established was known by its most common title, "the Catholic Church," at least as early as the year 107, when Ignatius of Antioch used that title to describe the one Church Jesus founded. The title apparently was old in Ignatius’s time, which means it went all the way back to the time of the apostles.

Not full of statues with people talking to them.
Not Mormon, JW, 7day A., Christian Science... That's gona take to long.

If they believe that Jesus is the Christ and that he rose from the grave (in the flesh) and they don't get too carried away on insisting their personal doctrines and have a nice worship service, it's good for me.

One that preaches and teaches the pure undefiled Word Of GOD. I prefer the King James Version bible. If we are born again Christians we have The Holy Spirit to let us know and feel the presence of GOD. May GOD bless and keep you and direct you to a wonderful church where you will be fed the whole word of GOD.
