in our house its the man's place is in the kitchen because he's the best cook and that's the way i like it

There's a long history behind this. It starts over 300 years ago. Only men worked, women have always been expected to keep the house, cook, and raise the kids. It wasn't until the early 1900's that women were empowered to actually go to cooking school and be able to get out of the house. There's an excellent sociological book on it called "Perfection Salad".

A woman's place is in the home, as opposed to a man's place being the office. For world renowned male chefs the kitchen is their office.

Barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen?....Men are just a little more daring and creative with unusual dishes while women tend to adhere to the basics and follow recipes.
