Yes, there are tumors which can grow from the spinal cord, although most cancerous tumors of the spine spread there from somewhere else in the body.

Yes when I was in rehab after my colon cancer surgery there was a older man who went to rehab with me had spinal cancer he had to wear a brace for his upper body.

You can have spine cancer, which is in the bones. My uncle had it.
