I think that inner peace comes with being able to stay in the here and now, and in being able to see each moment as totally new and different, without attachments to past events/experiences and future expectations.
Life is what it is, and if we realize the nature of life, we can find peace. One step closer to inner peace is by stopping to look for answers on the outside, and by stopping to place blame on outside circumstances. Everything is just a projection, and everything is nothing but energy. If we put enough of our inner energy into one particular direction (i.e. inner peace), it will materialize.
We have all the answers and everything we need within ourselves. All we have to do is slow down, turn off the TV which is trying to get us hooked into the matrix of "a big enough car will make us happy," and listen within. The world will look a whole lot different!

I look at inner peace as being a connection between mind and body, and the rest of the world. It's about accepting the world, yourself, and everything around you just as it is. Appreciating the beauty in life, and perhaps even the bad. Of course, everyone has their own definition of what inner peace might be. This is just mine.
I believe I did find it. It was hard, and it took many long years of despising myself as a person, but I finally reached that sense of peace and contentment with life. I feel most at peace when I'm listening to music, playing my violin, and especially when I'm surrounded by the beauty of nature. There's nothing like a long walk or sitting by the water to make a person realize just how wonderful life is.

Inner peace is real. I have encountered it sometimes when I looked around, forgot my worries, realized that we are just a tiny little fragment of a tiny little planet orbiting a tiny little solar system in the grandiose beauty that is the Universe. My problems seemed nil at that moment and I enjoyed true inner peace.

It can only be found from within. Keep looking deeper inside yourself until you find it.
