Weight loss is really quite simple; there are only two things you need do to reach your goals:
1. Restrict daily calories to 1600 calories per day. By increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables you eat, you will be able to keep your intake at this level without feeling hungry or uncomfortable.
2. Exercise for one hour a day, every single day. It can be anything from pilates to just plain walking, but do it. One hour. Every day.
This is a pretty simple recipe for weight loss, but it works. It has worked for me; I have lost 62 pounds this way. It will work for you if you commit to it and stick to it.
Good luck!

Brooke, don't 'spot train' - a lot of people get into this, its a waste oftime. It does not work. You are 14 so to be honest things are gonna change naturally, butfor now I'd do this:
Check portion size of your food. Reason being that smaller portions eaten 5-6 times a day (snacks) speeds up your metabolism. There fore your body burns more fat quicker and the smaller portions decrease your stomach volume and you'll soon notice you get full on smaller meals. No bloating.
Secondly, at your age you can do some abdominal work but I'd get into a lot of cardio type sports as well. Because with eating right and speeding up your metabolism you will benefit greatly from active sports and see a great improvement in your general fitness and also finally your well being. Trust me you'll look great and feel it too. Don't look for aquick answer - the longer term healthy lifestyle option is much better and will last for as long as you stay with it. Its easy once you get into it. Andwill benefit you thtoughout your teenage years and beyond. Cheers.
Yoga/swimming.cycling/aerobics/pilates...all superb.

I have the same problem, and the answer is to just diet and exercise. My weight goes to my stomach, on other people it goes to their thighs, hips, butt. And if you do a lot of ab exercises, you'll tighen up the area and it'll look flatter.

man, i wish i knew what to do cuz im 13 and i look pregnant! heres what i do know though...if u do just situps and crunches, ur stomach will get bigger cuz of the muscle building...if u just do cardio then u wont get tone and u will have a flabby flat stomach(im very flabby) so u got to do both cardio and weight training at the same time...rememer though...U HAVE ORGANS!!! nobody REALLY has a flat tummy and everybody DOES have a little fat/flab on them...
