It would have been even better if The White Paper was not introduced and Jews could have simply freely immigrated to the British Mandate of Palestine. Then the need for a partition would be mute.

Instead the Arab Higher Committee demanded that Jews could not freely move to their historical homeland.
And as a result are morally indirectly responsible for all those Jews who would have been saved from the Holocaust.

Mike it will never ever be a better place until some Jewish people stop crying and saying what if all accepted Israel, and then some Jews turn around and say "the so called Palestinians". Did they vote you a few questions ago for the most rational answerer? Sorry to be upset with you, but you need to start opening your mind a little. Cheers!
Shanti: "some Jewish people", You live in Israel and I've only ever seen you accept the Palestinians. Peace!

What a different world it would have been if the Israelis returned the so-called Israel to its owners and accepted only the part given to them by the 1947?
We would have lived in a much better place and all the deaths would have never occurred.
Good luck
I would add Peace

I wish you were right, but realistically, I don't think it would make that much difference, unless u r speaking only of israel's troubles. the arab tribes have been warring w/ each other since history and that pretty much included anyone within the general region. while supporting israel does create a huge conflict for the US, in the arab world, it is only recently that it actually became the center of our attention and the deaths of americans.
still, good question and great attitude.

Ever studied on Ishmael or Esau. A loud *** of a man. Genesis.
The two who started the fight against their own people and it continues today.
Were these two not Semites?
The Arabs are a warlike race and will not have peace even within their own ranks.
If Palestine is accepted as a state, how soon before the Shia and the Sunni start killing each other?
The president of Iran is what's called a Twelver, follower of thee 12th In-man who is to return as Mahdi, and He is pushing hard for it, at the cost of other Iranian lives, which he does not even claim to respect, and is very willing to sacrifice for his own personal beliefs, not politics.
Peace is just a word and it has never truly occur ed.

As Far as i know neither the arab nations or the Palestinians where consulted at all witht he diving up of the land, however i do know that one Jordanian family where in favour of the british and got a huge swath of land the fact remains that to a large extent the UN and the Brits controlled how the land was to be divied up without consulting the people of the land first that is overwheling majority-Arabs.

If only... if only....
Then maybe lives would have been spared, and people would not have been killed in the name of G-d.
I guess that would also be assuming that Muslim Extremists were non-existent. How I wish that were true!
But unfortunately, that will not happen until peace is taught in Palestinian schools, and other schools where racism and hatred is taught.

yeah it's easy now to look back isn't it... The way of life is to learn from mistakes - I hope people will learn. - I really hope people are smarter.
War = Bad (people dying, people hurt, people's life ruined)
Peace = Good (prosperaty, people happy, meaningful lives)
It's easy for people in Israel to understand this why is it so difficult for people outside?

Ironically, I'm not so sure if Israel would have survived under that situation. On the other hand, if the Jews would have been granted free immigration as well as peaceful living, then I suppose it wouldn't have been as neccessary.

Yes, there would have been a Palestinian state next to Israel.
But somehow I think there still would have been terrorism aimed at Israel, and the rest of the world, from the Islamic extremists.
GAMLA JOE, excellent point.
