Matthew doesn't specify. Most people assume three wise men because there were three gifts.
It's probably a manageable number for nativity plays.

None, unless you want to count his step-father Joseph as being wise.
The wise men only arrived when he, baby Jesus, was a little younger than two years old. The "wise men", the astronomers from other nations, were told by Herod to come back and let him know when they found the new little king. The wise men did not for they perceived it was NOT wise. Herod was so furious and jealous that another "king" was prophesied to be born, that he sent his cruel soldiers to go and kill all the boy babies in Bethlehem around two years old, to be sure he got the right one!
Read Matthew's and Luke's account of this time and happening.
When the wise men came, three gifts were listed as having been presented to the Christ child, but no mention in sacred scripture of how many wise men.

None. The astrologers didn't arrive until after his birth... about two years later as stated above. They were not wise men they were sent in search of Jesus by King Herod who wanted to kill him because he was a threat to his rulership.

The Three Wise Men arrived after Jesus had been born, so I'm going to say none.

Probably just Joseph.
The wise guys did not show up until after they were living in a house and that was perhaps two years after Jesus was born.
The Bible does not tell us how many wise guys there were, it just tells us that they brought three gifts.
The story of the three wise men showing up at the time of Jesus' birth is simply not true. Like the myth that Jesus died on Good Friday.
Jesus died on Good Wesnesday.
Pastor Art
PS: The story told by Lazar is pure fiction. That is NOT in the Bible. Not in any Bible.

None. They arrived at the house Christ was in later on. Nothing says how many. Three gifts are mentioned but we don't know if multiple kings brought the same gift.

None. The gospel of Matthew, second chapter relates that "after Jesus was born in Bethlehem" the magi arrived at "a house," not a stable, where "the young child, " not newborn, resided. People just didn't pay attention to the scripture and telescoped the story together.

Three men from the far east, like when they seek a new religious leader, as in Tibet.
Read about it in the 'Talmud Jmmanuel' text. The star of course was a 'UFO' - stars cannot lead men to a spot on this Earth, but a UFO can...
