On October 14, 2001, a former Iraqi army captain named Sabah Khodada granted an interview to the PBS television program "Frontline" in which he talked about a terrorist training camp in Iraq called Salman Pak. During this interview Khodada stated, "This camp is specialized in exporting terrorism to the whole world."

Saddam Hussein paid $25,000 bonuses to the families of Palestinian homicide bombers. "President Saddam Hussein has recently told the head of the Palestinian political office, Faroq al-Kaddoumi, his decision to raise the sum granted to each family of the martyrs of the Palestinian uprising to $25,000 instead of $10,000," Iraq's deputy prime minister Tariq Aziz declared on March 11, 2002. Mahmoud Besharat, who dispensed these funds across the West Bank, gratefully said: "You would have to ask President Saddam why he is being so generous. But he is a revolutionary and he wants this distinguished struggle, the intifada, to continue."

Saddam Hussein was a terrorist himself. He persecuted his own people, invaded neighboring countries, and, as you correctly point out, "paid $25,000 bonuses to the families of Palestinian homicide bombers." But I'm puzzled by your charge that liberals (presumably, you mean only liberals) dispute a "terror link" to Saddam Hussein. How odd. What does this mean? People on both sides of the political spectrum agree that Saddam Hussein was a cruel dictator, a terrorist, and a sponsor of Middle Eastern terrorism. But both liberal and conservative thinkers (and moderates in between) also agree that Saddam Hussein had absolutely nothing to do with al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, and 9/11. Moreover, there is simply no evidence. Bush and his coven, of course, convinced many Americans otherwise. It amazes me that, to this day in 2007, knowing what we now know (or should know), a significant number of Americans believe that Saddam Hussein was involved with 9/11 or that the 9/11 hijackers were Iraqi! Amazing!

Boring political rant.

Which liberals claimed that specifically? Post sources and prove it.

Of course, the link between Al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein was never proven and has always been a silly idea.

Terrorism in and from Northern Ireland and countless other places never bothered the US, so why should the testimony of a single man bother you, even more so that it doesn't support the Al Qaeda-Saddam link?

Compensating the families of suicide bombers is a practice that comes from all over the Middle East and beyond, including Saudi Arabia.

The issue is Al Queda (Osama) and Saddam practiced different forms of Islam \ religion and Saddam was not favored by Al Queda at all. In fact they would be considered enemies. Still the left ignores the fact that Al Queda proved it could strike the US; and if it was too seek weapons and money to do so again it well could have asked Saddam for the assistance. They did have mutual enemies even if they were not friends.

There is no doubt that Saddam had linked to terrorists. The problem was he didn't have links to the Al-Qaida terrorists that attacked the US. If we are too attack every nation that has links to terrorism we would be at war with the entire Mid-East. President Bush made two suggestions about Saddam, one that they were involved with the planning and operation of 9/11 and two that an immenant attack on the US by terrorists using Iraqi WMDs were immeniant. Neither proved to be true.

Of the five worst terrorists of the past seventy-five years,
* Joseph Stalin massacred ten million of his own people and died peacefully in his sleep;
* Adolph Hitler gassed six million Jews and killed himself rather than face an international tribunal for high crimes against humanity;
* Idi Amin slaughtered two million people in Uganda and quickly retired in exile;
* Saddam Hussein killed more than a million Iraqis and was finally hanged by the 'new' Iraqi puppet government installed by the Bush administration;
* George W. Bush has yet to take responsibility for the deaths of 675,000 Iraqis and 3,900 U.S. soldiers so that a handful of wealthy elitists, oil barons, industrialists and power brokers could become wealthier and more powerful.
Whether 'libs' insist there was no terror link to Saddam is irrelevant. Stop trying to spread hatred, bias, and political bigotry just because you disagree with a particular political dogma. -RKO- 11/19/07

We dispute the asserted link between Al Qaeda and Saddam. I didn't read anything disputing that in your question.

Have it your way. Saddam trained terrorist. He paid for them, he equipped them, he sent them to attack the United States.
I'll go a step better. Saddam planned and executed 9-11. He flew all 4 planes with a nifty remote controller.
Who cares what you or I believe. The truth is something entirely different and there are so many claims and rumors and conspiracy theories, and lies that we will never find it.
Believe what you want because we will never know anyway.
Truth is dead.

Libs honestly believe that Iraq was the ONLY country in the middle east that didn't have any form of terrorist operations taking place inside their borders. Libs believe there were "magical walls" surrounding Iraq that kept all terrorists out of this country. Libs, you gotta love 'em for the comedy they provide for us all.....

Because we are all smart enough to know the war is about oil and money. That is it. That is why the USA does not police everywhere, only where it is beneficial for our president, his family and his colleagues. The public likes to have a face for who to blame things on which is where Sadaam comes in.
