Its awesome. the best sport in the world , you will be even more of a fan once you see a race in person. i have been to football games ,basketball games, but nothing even comes close to matching the excitement of nascar races. you will be hooked. these people that say different dont know what they are missing. i am a season ticket holder to michigan speedway and would not trade it for anything. i know you will be back once there , have a great time

A real exciting day for sure--The cars are loud and the ear plug are a good idea. Plenty of Souvenir stands and trailers to shop at. A lot of Hospitality tents if you want to pay extra to go in them. The sounds the smells the excitement makes for a great day. The only bummer is the traffic jams getting out!!!!

I've never been to a NASCAR race, but I'd bring ear plugs. I've been to dirt track races and they can get loud. I've also done the Richard Petty ride along, and that was loud.
I couldn't imagine going to a race without having a TV as well. There's so much that they show on TV that I don't believe you can see at a race. I'd be watching them both!

It is loud, but don't do ear plugs. Rent a scanner and headphones to listen to the driver chatter as well as the radio broadcast. You can watch however you want, not just what T.V. wants you to see. Bring your cooler, have a drink or 7, and get ready for a great time.

Take plugs, but you will find that there are no words that can accurately describe the Nascar experience. Just be prepared to have the time of your life!!!

it all depends on where you sit, i guess.. at michigan the cars are not "running in packs" (bunched together).i have been to "intermediate" tracks (atlanta, texas and homested) and the cars are spread out, and not running the whole race side by side and plugs where not needed ..if you sit maybe the 1st 25 rows from the track on up, it is totally up to you..

Definitely bring ear plugs and stay away from the drunk people as they are going to be fun to watch as they do really stupid things.

Honestly, I like it better on TV, when you see everything that happens. You miss a lot in person.
