Microsoft Windows XP has it built-in already called Narrator. Its under Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Accessibility -> Narrator.

It's very difficult for a program to translate writing to sound, as you may find out if you look into the JAWS screen-reader program used by the blind: see http://www.freedomscientific.com/fs_products/software_jaws.asp
(That's something quite like you have in mind.)

Consider the sentence "Do you have a peach?"

It has four different meanings, depending where the screen reader places the stress...

DO you have a peach?

Do YOU have a peach?

Do you HAVE a peach?

Do you have a PEACH?

How does one type this, properly...? A real hassle for the typist!

Consider this, before you look for a sound-maker!
