Can the Jewish people who do NOT believe in Jesus be saved? Some Christians seem to think so. They think that Israel is still God's chosen people, yet my Bible talks about the Church (both Jews/Gentiles who are "in" Christ) as being God's chosen people. And the Old Covenant being replaced by the New one. (Jer.31:31) Can people be saved just because of their ethnic (Jewish)background? I think not because the scriptures state clearly that we are justified by faith and not by works or race. For example, Ahab and Mannasah were Jewish yet they did not believe in the promised "Seed" or in God so therefore they were not saved. Abraham our father of Faith is saved for His faith in God and he was looking forward to the coming "Seed" that is Christ, not because of his race?
I don't believe that anyone will be saved unless they put their hope in Jesus Christ, including Jews. To say otherwise is to promote a dualistic means of salvation - that Jesus is 1 way to heaven but not the only way.

hescomingintheclouds,
If the New Covenant is purely spiritual then why does it include divine healing?

The Bible says there is ONE way to be saved and thats through Jesus Christ. It was impossible for us to follow the law. we are human and we sin. thats why we needed Jesus. its as simple as that. The new covenant took the Jew and Gentile issue out of the equation

Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. Jews still circumcise. But the Holy Bible speaks and means to be cut off from the world. To be set apart from the wickedness and evil people of the world. So that says some things about the some Jews.

The new covenant was established because mankind could not keep the covenant God established with Israel. Secondly, the original covenant was established for Israel only, because God needed a Holy nation, to have His son Jesus Christ born into. When you read, the Old Testament, you see there are so many laws given to Israel, it was impossible for the people to keep. The new covenant was necessary because it allowed all of mankind to have access to God by Christ Jesus' death on the cross. The new covenant allows Jew and Gentile (non-Jews), bond (slave) or free man to be a part of God's family. Mankind did not learn from pass mistakes. Jesus Christ had to come to correct the failure of Adam and Eve is the garden of Eden, if they had not sinned and caused mankind to die and be separated from God, Jesus would not have had to come and there would not have been any need of a New Covenant. His death on the cross, His burial, and His resurrection was the only thing that could defeat Satan, put us back in fellowship with God, give up eternal life and to keep us from dying eternally, by just believing on Jesus Christ.. The disobedience of Adam in the Garden was the reason a New covenant had to come, because with that disobedience brought about sin and death.

O.K. but the people who do not know Jesus only God the Father will not be judged on that as they have no knowledge of what the bible says. The Jews are going to reach salvation when you read the part in the bible (sorry I'm Catholic so can't quote bible verses) that says the veil will be lifted and they will come into true union with Christ. Plus the fact that we are all of us decended from the original 12 tribes of Isreal of which the Jewish people were just one tribe. So we are all his chosen people!

The one and only way to eternal life in heaven is true belief that Jesus is your Lord and Savior and that He died for your sins. Nothing but belief will get you into the kingdom of heaven. Before the rapture happens, everyone will have the opportunity to believe in Jesus Christ. Only the church, (believers) will be raptured up. During the tribulation period, there will be another chance to be saved, but there will be a lot of pain and torture involved here. At this point the "Antichrist" will be in charge, and anyone who will not follow him and his rules will be killed. I for one, will be raptured up. At the end of the tribulation Jesus and the whole church will come back and gather up the new believers and live forever in heaven with Him. I really can't wait!

How much clearer can Jesus say it, "I am the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father except by Me."
When Jesus returns and the Jews see Him the Bible does say that all Israel will be saved when they look on the One that they pierced.

yup, the only way if you believe that Jesus was God's son, came to earth as man to save us from sin, then rose again on the third day, is still alive today in heaven, waiting for us and preparing a place for us.
John 14:6

I believe that Paul explained this when he spoke of Jesus Christ going to the "prison" to baptize the dead.
I forget which book its in but I think its pretty clear.
I just looked it up !st peter 3 , 19
Also Jesus speaks of Moses and Abraham dwelling in his fathers house in heaven.
But all that said Jesus Christ still is the only way to salvation.
Though faith, not works.

Romans: 9,10,11, 12 and 13 say this:
9]if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you SHALL be saved.
10]for with the heart man [people] believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation .
11] for the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on Him [Jesus] shall not be ashamed.
12] for there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek; for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him
13] for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord [not might be but] SHALL be saved
read this for yourself cause the remaining part is also reassuring
hope this helps you
