Yes this Ethernet cable will work just fine. The PlayStation 3 one in the box is only about 3ft long. The only reason why the auction description doesn't say PS3 is because most use the PS3's built in wireless capability's.

Yes that cable will work just fine. Do you really need 50ft? Maybe you could go with 25ft or 12ft, etc...
