About 11 hours. Go to a travel website like
expedia.com
and type an imaginary request to fly from your home airport, such as Baltimore, to the main airport in Hawaii, which is Honolulu. You will then get a list of flights to choose from, and you can see how long they take. The trip time will actually be longer than just the flight time, because you would have to wait a couple hours to change planes someplace along the way, such as in Chicago or Los Angeles.

I live around the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. We went to Hawai'i (Kona) in 1998, so it was before all of the tightened security took affect after 9/11 but all together it took us around 17 hours from when we left our house to when we checked into our hotel. We had 2 stops also, one in TX and the other in CA.

We only stayed for 7 days and 2 of them were wasted by travel and adjusting to the time change. If you do decide to go I would plan to go for at least 10 if you can. Also, with recent security restrictions and extended check-in times I would suggest that when you are planning, over estimate times that way any extra time just puts you ahead of schedule!

Hope this helps!
