She bought the 3 used tires at a tire dealer and they installed the tires, 2 in the rear and one in the front. She bought the tires for temperary driving only until she had save up to buy new ones. the dealer sold the used tires for $40 for 3 tires plus the installing. The reciept which my wife signed had printed "used tires have no garranteed". 12 days past and on a freeway, my wife driving about 55 to 60 miles an hour one of the rear tires burst and damaged the rear side body of the vehicle, nothing happen to my wife she was able to pull the car over to the shoulder of the freeway. The burst of the tire cause over $4,000 worth of damages to the vehicle. Do we have legal grounds to have the tire dealer pay us for the damages of the vehicle since not even 12 days past and one of the tires burst. It could have been worst someone in the freeway could have been killed because of the tire.

The answer is no, used tire have no guarantee. She was informed of this fact. Furthermore, when you replace tires it is important to replace them evenly. She should have replaced all 4 tires. Having two different tires on the front could have caused problems. If you are in a situation like that, you are warned away from driving on the highway. Also it would be difficult to establish the reason the tire burst. She could have run over something.

It sucks. You might want to call the store and tell them what happened, but most likely they will not do anything for you.

I believe your only recourse is to put in an insurance claim. If you have full coverage, depending on the policy and your state, you should be able to get repairs done and pay your deductible. If the receipt for the tires said no guarantee, that is a condition you accepted. Remember, different conditions could have caused the blow-out as well, it could have been something sharp in the road, or low tire pressure for instance, both conditions the shop has no control over after you leave the shop. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but even if there was a guarantee, on used tires it would only be for a replacement used tire.

Your wife signed the receipt that said "used tires have no guarantee" so there isn't anything you can do legally. She is lucky it was the rear tire that blew or the damage could have been a lot worse. Glad she is ok, and sorry about your car. Good luck

They shouldn't charge any extra for a rim job. A rim job is where the mechanic pricks the rims with something stiff and hard to ensure a tight fit. It is an 'extra' which some mechanics perform sometimes to sweeten the customer for future business. You should find the ride as good as, if not better, than it was before. Hope this helps

No, because on the receipt in writing it says "No Guarantee". Even new tires can fail, so there's nothing for you to get lawsuit happy about.

Perfect reason not to buy used tires. They had a disclaimer, it is binding. Should have sprung for new tires, would have been cheaper in the long run.
