If I ask "why do Christians believe in an imaginary being", then I'm sure all the Atheists would think I was asking them...
So do the Atheists just think everyone is asking them everything?!

RE: Ausares.

Of course I know exactly what I was trying to imply. But yes, can be a bit silly too!

Just for the record I don't have anything against atheists (little "a").
I'm virtually one myself - and they actually give by far the best (if I'm not generalising here), funniest, most straight answers I find on here. Thank you.

To all those with your false conclusions, and your inability to read straight english... bless you.

We have the market cornered on literacy.

The others want to answer but words are hard.

So it looks like only we care enough to respond.

Funniest answer goes to Francine. But is she being sarcastic?

You say, "If I ask "why do Christians believe in an imaginary being", then I'm sure all the Atheists would think I was asking them..."

I don't think that's true. I think many Atheists who read the R&S section plunge in to read those posts, but I don't think you can smear ALL Atheists with such a broad brush.

(FYI: I am neither Atheist nor Christian)

um ok...and your sweeping generalizations are going to help.

If you do not want atheists to answer then go to a christian forum. It is actually very simple...

Oh and atheists are the furthest thing from being self centered. In fact, I have never understood how NOT believing that everything was created special for us was egocentric. I answer questions that I find interesting. Even if they start out, "Christians only..."

So you think a christian can best answer why an atheist does something? Most have never been on our side of the fence. However, a good number of atheists were theists at one time so we have a better view of both sides.

If you put atheists in the title of a question, atheists will answer.. if you don't want their opinion don't address the question to them.

I think the issue here is...you are asking a general audience of anyone that can answer if they care to even if the question is directed at a specific group, so who cares.

It is a free country, and we can and will answer any question we want to. We are intelligent beings, with a good understanding of how our world works, and when we see a question ABOUT atheists, why, naturally,we will answer.
Common sense would tell you that.
You ARE acquainted with common sense, are you not???

Are you serious?
Well, Probably because you're saying "why do ATHEISTS..."
And if you're talking to an atheist, I think it's pretty reasonable for them to assume that you are asking THEM for an explanation. Right?
(I'm sorry, but is there something that I'm not understanding here? )

Well if you are asking a question about why an atheist does something, there is no better source than the subject of your question. Would you ask a janitor a question about why doctors do something?

Gee, because of all the questions that ARE addressed to us.

And when you ask a question about a group, your best source of information is from the group itself, rather than biased third-parties. (Better if you can find objective third-parties, but good luck with that.)

if i asked why do christians...... that I'm sure that you would look at it and put your two cents in so why wouldn't they think it was for them. Who would know more about an atheist and atheist or a christian?
