I agree 100%, dear. You would think, this being an open forum, that especially in a subject matter such as this, that people would be more open minded. I think the person above me was correct in saying that people are quick to defend their beliefs, but this isn't necessarily church or synagouge, or a circle.... the purpose here isn't to preach your religion, but to answer real questions to real people with real answers. Just because one person isn't sure of something within their religion (or someone else's religion) doesn't mean that they're wrong, or bad, or (yeah, i've actually heard this one....) 'going to hell'.... come on people... Can't we all just grow up and agree to disagree? I don't ask quesitons or answer questions in R&S to be preached to or to preach... I try to be nice and give another point of view or clarify for someone... no need to be mean or rude. ;)
we should all keep in mind that we all come from different backgrounds, walks of life, spiritual paths... that's what makes this section so fun! lol
Good quesiton, dear. You get a star. ;) >:D<

you're right. A lot of people can be that way because they do not want their religion questioned or criticized. It's the same reason why a lot of people in religion and spirituality give thumbs down to people who know what they are talking about. They give thumbs down because they don't like what the person said, and it goes against that persons belief. It's not that the person who answered gave a bad answer.
It's an oxymoron, isn't it. People who are taught to love one's neighbor give rude answers, or gives you a thumbs down, and disrespects you and your own personal beliefs.
So who are the real sinners? Those who do not believe in Jesus, but respect and follow his ways even though they don't know it, or those who are strict followers of Jesus disrespecting you and being rude to you going against everything Jesus stood for?

Oh geeze... have u seen some of the ridiculous questions that's posted on here? They are just asking for people to beat them down. lol Though if the question is one that is stated clearly and has good intentions, I'll either give a nice reply, or if I don't have a real answer for it I'll just leave it alone.

I have often had the realization that the ones in this world who profess to be so religious and holy are the ones who are the rudest & meanest. The really good people don't go about claiming to be so godly, they just live their lives that way. An old relative of mine used to say, the ones that sit in the front pew in church are not the most religious, they are the ones that need religion most. How true.

"When it comes to Religion and Spirituality, it isn't about your
or my feelings."
"Anything that involves those two words, comes down to Right
and Wrong."
"Feelings, only involves Law and the Laws of Behavior."
"You can sue a psychologist for hurting your feelings, but a
psychologist sure can't sue their patients for being overly
insensitive."
"A religious organization's Youth Leader better be a juvenile
psychologist as well. By Law of Behavior, they absolutely
must be SENSITIVE PEOPLE."
"A judicial award, or an out-of-court settlement, is Law. Yes,
even for 'emotional distress'."
"Me, I ONLY DEAL WITH religious organization LEADERS.
I don't argue with anyone. So, to keep myself for being rude,
I only answer to those persons who could 'ask me to leave'."
"In the event that I do become RUDE, I find myself to be quite
comical. I always enjoy myself, even if I'm the only one that's
laughing."

Yeah, some of them are rude....but never mind those people....we're supposed to be on here discussing religion/spirituality but there are those who just like to mess around with religious people. Some people just have no lives or nothing else better to do on here I guess but to say stupid things.

I've noticed that too. It might be because religion is such a heated subject. If more religious people practiced what they preach they would be more tolerant. Atheist still should have a moral imparative that requires them to act with more consideration for the opinion of others. I don't get it at all.

Some of the people can be rude all of the time and
most of the people can be rude some of the time so if it upsets you so much then just give them a thumbs down.

Sometimes I am polite, I am even polite in answering some rude questions, but sometimes I am just not in the mood to be polite to rude questioners//
