Some of the people who answered your question are quite obviously idiots.
There is no such thing as a "girl monk!"
In the Holy Catholic Church we have religious. Those women who consecrate themselves to God can be split into nuns or sisters. There is a difference. Nuns are bound under papal enclosure, which means they do not leave the Convent walls ever - this would be the Cistercians, Benedictines, Carmelites and other strict enclosed orders. Sisters are those whome actively work in the community and are not bound under papal enclosure for instance the Notre Dame Sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus, the Ursuline sisters all of whom you would have found teaching or in a hospital.

There are no female monks. There are nuns, who dedicate their entire lives to serving Christ and they do not shave their heads. They do wear wedding bands and call themselves "brides of Christ", however. They sometimes wear what is called a "habit" which varies from one order (group of nuns) to another and is really a sort of uniform. Many today just wear the same clothes anyone else would wear, just more on the modest side. Hope that answers your question. Btw, not all monks shave their heads, either, just a couple particular orders.

Male = Bhikkhu
Female = Bhikkhuni
Yes they do have to shave their heads :) and must be ordained by another Bhikkuni, they follow an extra set of rules though and most women setlle for becomming a nun instead (though men may also become a buddhist nun).
