I get it, if he gets the roses, and leaves a card, he doesn't have to stand there waiting for an answer. Cute. But yeah, the love part should be saved for later. I think its a good idea. It takes the pressure off the situation...

It's okay (might be a little over the top), but nix the love part. He may not really know that he loves the girl if he hasn't spent much time with her. Just do the last part. Better yet, he should present the flowers in person and ask her - no card.

um, asking someone out with an "i love you" statement is kinda big, i mean, she might think that's too much at teh moment. take things slowly. i like the whole roses idea, but why don't he just ask her out normally so that she doesn't feel obligated to answer because he has his heart set out for her. although, after she says yes she'll go out with him, then he can get her the roses, but dont tell her he loved her at the spot.

Like the roses part but the i love you thing would freak me out. My Boyfriend and I went out as friends to a dinner party then two weeks later we out for dinner. he gave a single red rose and asked me to be his girlfriend but we had been friends as long as i can remember.

Well if he tells her that he loves her it may scare her away. Mayb he should try saying that he has admired her since the first time they met. Or maybe something like "You amaze me. Be mine?" But in my opinion the word lve is a little too strong.

Whatever you "friend" does decide to write in the card tell him not to write the word love it is way to earliy for that... Tell him to try something like... "Just because you are important to me... P.S I have something I'd like to ask you"... And tell your friend to man up and ask her personally to be his girl. Good Luck!

I think it is cute, but if the girl didn't feel the same way, it might be a little awkward...
