ok my friend met this "girl" he say's he knew her all her life and then they started recently dating and he wants to get her this gift that costs like 150 dollars. I was like why do u want to get such a expensive gift for he said well because she asked for it
i know he dont have alot of money has barely enough to get by
i just dont think he should just buy her this expensive gift rightaway
i used to think i liked this new girlfriend of his and now i think she is a gold digger
idk..what do u think about it all?

I think you are right he don't need to get her what she wants right know that cost that much.

I guess that depends. He's know her for a while, so she's not your ordinary "just met" girlfriend. However, it's a little suspicious that she asked for it. I would never ask my boyfriend to buy me a gift (we actually had a miscommunication over a necklace, so now I don't mention what I want). If I'm asking, it's not really a gift. It would be different if I saw something and said, "Oh, that's pretty," and he said, "Let me buy it for you." But asking ... like "I really want this $150 ring, will you get it for me?" is a little weird.

I'm not concerned about the timing - I think it's okay to get her a gift now, $150 isn't too bad - but I would question the asking.

I agree and she will milk him for more if getting that was easy. He should be careful with that, but if you keep saying stuff, he will end up being mad at you, so you may want to leave him alone. The best lessons are bought.
