I occasionally find myself typing something that is (in my sadly delusional opinion) true, but not nice or polite. And then I regret it, so I delete the answer or simply don't submit it.
Anyone else suffer from the "If you can't say anything nice" syndrome?

There are many times that I am fired up and want to type something snarky but I either choose to leave the page without commenting or I modify/cancel before I submit my answer. The same goes with answering a question just for the 2 points when what I have to say is not really relevant.
There are too many people out there in YA-land that can't self-edit or use self-restraint; just because we can say it doesn't mean we have too.
(getting off the soapbox now; I'm still snarky over some people yesterday on YA! yesterday and it's made me all preachy )

Oh, yeah--I proof-read my answers before I hit submit. Sometimes, I'll type something really snarky, just let off steam & then delete it & type something more polite.

Yes, I have a let a few slip through. Most of the time I just type it to get my frustration out then think better of it and cancel it.

I personally dont care if i sound like a jerk. I dont put myself in the 'need to be loved' state. I answer the question people ask to the best of my ability, and if it isn't what they want to hear, maybe they should ask on a different forum.

Someone asked a question about how I grow. I wanted to say 'Viagra', but I deleted it and gave a clean answer.
She seemed too nice to have to put up with a horny old man.

Oh, definitely.
But I wouldn't say I suffer from it. It just makes sense to me that if I want to get my point across, it's more likely to be read and evaluated on its own merits if I leave the snideness out of it.

I try to read it again before I submit, and sometimes edit ... my snarkiness does sometimes get the better of me.

uhh, "yes"
I've done it a few times, sometimes pumping up my
self-righteous facet to the point of realizing that
"nobodywill be helped by this" .. or ...
"it's just too lame"
"shee-ite, I 'm just being a jerk like those ***h***'s
I don't like to see"
gotta admit I never really knew the definition
of "snarky" all that well

Yes, unfortunately I do. I usually take the thought and repackage it as a question afterward, albeit in a much nicer monologue.
