That is a fantastic report card. I just could not believe it when she told me. These parents are going to give their child a complex. The kid is not perfect. But that's a great report card! I just don't see why they are upset. It's great to encourage your child to always want to do better, but to WHINE about A-s is just STUPID.

I think they are insane, anyone else agree?

I have to agree with you. My daughter brings home all A's and has for many years. The only thing I MAY see with their point is IF an A+ goes down to an A-. But all we would do is ask her what's going on, if she needs help, but all A's, that is more than fantastic, that is a very hard task to do, especially with all the other things in life kids deal with.

You mom sounds like a great teacher! Thank her for what she does, teachers are treasures!

I agree that they are insane.

Gotta tell you a true story. When I was in high school, the son of a judge in the neighboring county was expected to only get A's. He got a B in one class. He committed suicide the same day report cards came out. It was such a shock.

I agree. I would be jumping for joy if my child brought home a report card like that. Sounds like they don't know how to give praise.
Parenting classes needed, I think.

They are freaking out because they want them to get a 4.0 GPA. In order to be a Valedictorian you have to have a 4.0 the whole time in high school. It is more important to some than to others. I don't care if my child gets perfect grades as long are they are doing their best. I'd rather have them be happy and getting C's or B's than getting all A+'s and being miserable and stressing out.

I find A+, A, and A- system stupid, because when you wash it all out they come to all equal a 4.0, the only group that cares about the differance between 90% and 100% are the ones who determin where you graduate in your High School class, colleges don't look at your %s they look at your GPA.

If my child came home with a report card like that we would be celebrating and making him/her feel like they accomplished something and not whine about not getting all A's..... (in reality that child did get all A's)

i do think that they are probably insane! but maybe their kid normally gets A+'s... maybe they thinkl their child is not improving but going in the opposite direction, which any parent should freak out about but not that much!! going from an A to a C would freak me out!! but an A to an A, no way!!
