so I've come to realize that a LOT of christians are really judgemental. By saying you can 't be gay and having an abortion is wrong and that if you don't believe in God you're going to hell. Its being judgemental.

Its not your life so why do you care? I'm all for spreading the word of God but saying stuff like that is making you go against the Bible. It says not to judge people. and thats exactly what they are doing.

since when does it matter to you if someone is or isn't gay or has or doesn't have an abortion. its not gonna affect whether or not you go to heaven or hell. when you're judgement day comes you can tell God that you tried to spread his word. I'm sure he knows that not everyone follows his word. as long as you try to spread his word its not up to you to say how someone else sould live their life

i'm not saying they shouldn't repent and ask for forgivness but every little time you sin would you like half the world pointing it out. especially if its something you can't help. How would you feel then? and yea i am christian and i know i have my own share of sins. I have plenty i know that but why do we feel the need to point out everyone elses sins and then get mad when ours are pointed out? who are we to pass judgement on people just because they are gay or had abortions? right there is a sin or at least what i would consider to be one because your passing judgement on someone else. Since when is it everyone elses job to figure out whats morally right? do you do up to someone whos muslim or hindu and say or since you don't believe in our god your going to hell? no you don't its the same principle

Its not up to the people on earth to go around and say o your gay your going to hell o you had an abortion your going to hell. thats not your job. your job is to spread Gods word and live by the Bible. Telling people that they are going to hell is not your job. Thats Gods on that persons judgement day. why don't you try teaching about God and the Bible without accusing people of doing stuff morally wrong? As long as your doing your best to live by the Bible then its not your job to say where other people are going and if what their doing is wrong. what happened to if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all?

On behalf of all atheists, I commend you for taking a rational approach to this. It's refreshing to see a Christian think that way. That is one thing we always talk about. It is ok for someone to believe in god or whomever they please, but just don't push it on us. You hit the nail right on the head. Thanks.

Well can I agree and disagree at the same time?

Preaching gospel like Billy Graham used to do, without judging one sin more than another, is the better way to preach. It's the Holy Spirit's job to convinct people of their sins, not ours. It's good theology to say all sins are the same so you are right, I have no right to judge a homosexual or someone who has had an abortion.

But when someone in the Church states that those things are not sins, I feel that it is our duty to speak out and say the truth. To say a sin is okay and not really a sin as it says in the Bible is deliberately misleading a homosexual or someone who has had an abortion.

So what is more cruel. The Church which tells that homosexual acts and that homosexuality is not a sin and therefore they don't need to confess and repent and have their sins forgiven? Or A Church tells someone who has had an abortion that they do not need to confess their sin and have it forgiven because they never really sinned in the first place.

Or is a person cruel when they take a stand and states that homosexuality is a sin and you do not get a "free pass" as some Churches teach. If you believe what these Churches tell you, then you are in danger of Hell?

The Bible does absolutely states that when someone is in danger of Hell we are commanded to give them at least one warning, not to do so is a sin in itself.

We do not have the right to judge homosexuals or someone who has had an abortion becase we are sinners ourselves and our sin is exactly the same is there.

But we do have the duty to speak up against many Christian churches who do say that neither of those things are sins. We do have the duty to say that they are in fact sins but when doing so, we do not have the right to judge them.

Actually, I have my own sins to deal with, and I'm pretty sure God didn't give me the judge job. Actually, I know for a fact He didn't give me that job. I've actually found atheists to be more intolerant of others more than any other group, especially in this section. I do realize that the atheists we get here aren't the mature type, (mature atheists for some reason don't hang out in this section, imagine that?), we're mostly stuck with bashers and trolls, totally different breed. They come here simply to insult and ridicule. So if you want to talk about judgmental, you just might be looking in the wrong direction, though I admit there are a few wacko christians here that for some reason think they're Jesus (you know, the one God really did give the judge job to), they're few and far between. This is lucky, since they obviously don't understand what the bible says in the first place. This is what happens when people don't read it for themselves, they let others tell them what it says, which always leads to someone else's usually incorrect interpretation.

Being lutheran does not make one a Christian. That's just a fact, not a judgement. I'm not pointing fingers at you when I say this:
What ever happened to just believing? What happened to just being a Christian? Why do we all of a sudden think that going to a baptist church or a catholic church makes us a Christian and assures us of being God's child?

Religious people are judgemental. The Bible tells believers to be discerning and not judgemental. But, from personal experience, it is a little hard not to judge. I guess it is not our place to try and force morals on others, especially in the church. In the book of Psalms, David writes from years of experience that God likes righteousness and purity. "How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your word." It's a burden on our hearts to not tell people what they have found out, that could help. We tell people that things are wrong because we love them. A lot of times, the truth hurts. Why have we become so disgusted with the truth?
Sometimes, we try and slap people in the face with harsh words, to try to sort of smack some sence into others. That is something that we do in the flesh; do not blame God when we do this.

The fact is, everyone judges people. It is wrong to point out the faults in just one group of people.

All I can say to this question is WOW! It is obvious to anyone who actually does read the bible that you are so mistaken it's not funny. If you are gay, or have abortions that it doesn't matter? Have you forgotten that we serve a Holy God, first of all, God doesn't make requests of anyone, He commands and it's our duty to simply obey, but when we come with the attitude of the world that it doesn't matter whatever we choose to do is okay with Him, we set ourselves up for failure. Christians are not judgemental, and if you read the bible you will also find out that we have been called to "warn the people " of their inpending doom, if they don't change their living habits. if that makes me judgemental then so be it. I rather offend you with the truth, than to love you with a lie.

How is telling others what the Bible says being judgmental? It's simply pointing out what the Bible says is morally right or wrong. Can I decide whether or not you are going to Heaven or Hell? No, but I can tell you what the Bible says about it.

Respectfully

Christians cant even get thier own religion right. Most are just huge hypocites. If the point is to be good to everyone and be good to yourself then you are doing yourself and everyone around you a disservice by excluding others that don't agree with you. If you all keep saying only GOD can judge you then shut your mouth and just worry about yourself.

there are many religious people who are judgemental and it is
not their place to judge, thats for god to do.
if you are a good person and always try and do the right
thing and to help people, thats what god will judge you by.

I have always wanted to post that but didn't because that simple statement is just as judgemental, as is my statement back to you. Its a vicious cycle.
