I bought my own from Michael's and printed them.
Then I added ribbons and little rhinestones.
They looked professionally done, but they only cost me about $30 for 125 invitations!
I sent you those pics of them, so you can see the details of how they're done.

I made my own wedding invitations. I bought beautiful paper from a stationary store (you can now get all sorts of stuff in the craft sections at Walmart, Target, Kmart etc) then I made my invites up on the computer and printed them using a gold (or similar) font, then traced over the writing in gold pen. I used gold ribbon and actually made them so they opened up in the centre and had to untie the gold ribbon to get to the invitation itself (not sure if that makes any sense) but I know Hobby Lobby have some premade cards in the shape I'm talking about and you could just attach the ribbon yourself. Also, you could use vellum paper and make a small print of you and your fiance and attach that to the invite. There are some great craft books available and I'm sure there are some make your own kits out there somewhere. I did everything from place cards to the service book, to the thank you cards and I was really happy with that option, not only for the budget but the sense of achievement as well. Good luck

You can get print your own invitations at a local craft or stationary store. For wording just type in wedding invitation wording in any search box. I bought my print yourself invitations at Hobby Lobby. They run a half off bridal sale several times a year. I got 100 invitations and response cards for $30. Good luck and I hope you have a wonderful life together! I'm getting married 8-8-08 myself!

You can get kits at any Arts and Crafts or Office Supply (Michael's, Staples, Office Depot) or you can just buy card stock and envelopes and go for it. The big question comes down to how confident you are in your artistry. There are also print houses on line that are amazingly cheap so it never hurts to surf, but if you have a specific style in mind there are tons of places that sell the paper supplies and you can choose from any number of publishing tools to do the job yourself. Good Luck!

We went to a few stores to find out what they have. You can get them anywhere now.
Take a look around at: Michaels, Target (we chose ours here), Office Depot, Office Max, etc...
We picked out the fonts and printed the invites ourselves for cheap. We did the same with our wedding programs. No problem.
Congrats and Good luck.

You can purchase sets of plain paper and print at home. Those can be found at craft stores like Michaels or E-Bay. We looked through invitation catalogs and found a style we liked and re-created it. We purchased paper in reams from Kelly Paper and ribbon from E-Bay. They aren't perfect, but they look great for a Do It Yourself project. We saved almost $80 by making and printing our own and we had fun too!

bought my invations, response cards, and thank you notes from walmart, took me about 2 hours to print everything, including the envelopes. Was really simple, the hardest part was deciding how to word them, and what font to use. But the kits come with wording choices inside, so good luck.

We bought ours at Michaels, we got 2 half price coupons and used them. Here they were $50.00 each I think so we paid that in total. Any craft store and most stationary stores should have them. I have also seen people say that Wal-Mart carries them.
For wording, search the internet.
