I will state it again PS3 games are NOT region coded, me and my friends are always importing titles from the US and all of them work on our UK ps3 models.
Blu Ray movies however, some of them are region coded and some of them are not, that is where you should be careful when buying.
As far as I know there are no plans on the release of any such software to synthesize multi region.

dont believe these guys ps3 games are region coded.... i had to learn that the hard way.... i found that the region code is located at the side of the box of the game under the title it looks like a little square and inside that square is a number and a globe the number is the region code....
there is no mod for the ps3...... cuz at the moment its impossible...

PS3 games are region free, but movies and PS1/2 games are region locked and there is nothing that could be done with that issue.
