it will wash out little by little, try to not wash it for a few days after you color it, i wouldnt spend the high dollar in a salon, the box color is fine, i found that revlon hair color products are terrible, i go with the loreal!!! also make sure you are using the conditioner packet, because it helps hold the color, also , use shampoo for color treated hair, alot of shampoos are too harsh.....

Wow I've never heard of that before?? But all I can tell you is to make sure the dyes being used aren't SEMI-permanent. Also try not to wash your hair every day and use a shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair. Maybe you could even bleach your hair to be a little lighter so the color can hold better. And if you want to give the salon another try or just for a consultation talk to some one with a lot of experience and ask what they could do for you.

same problem here. It is all about the colors in the dye.."red, blue etc. I have red natural tones in my hair. If I use a color that has an orange base..it turns my hair more brassy..or orange with the red. Ask the salon what dye they use and what the base color is. They will be able to tell you what color base to stay away from. I find pre-package colors wash quicker than if I by the color from a beauty supply store and do at home with the peroxide with different volumes "10, 20,30". I change my hair color in the fall a little darker and then lighter in the spring. I have been dying my hair for years professionally and at home.

You will have to dye your hair about every month. Dye changes color over time, fades, grows out, etc. Even permanent dye. That just means it won't wash out in one day.

first of all if you continue to dye your hair it will get very dry and brittle so be careful. i think the best way is to go to a professional salon and ask them to use a permanent color. it shouldnt wash out and should last for several months. once your get your hair colored you will need to shampoo and condition your hair with products specifically made for color treated hair. these help the color to last longer and keep it bright, shiny, and new looking so it wont fade. make sure all of your hair products are safe for color treated hair. you can also buy a creme that helps the color to stay longer. ask a trusted hair professional and they should be able to lead you to the right products for your specific hair. dont give up just yet. millions of women struggle with hair color everyday!! good luck!

ok i know a lot about dying hair i've dyed my hair so many times, and i had the same experience as you UNTIL this where yahoo answers comes in handy, a hair stylist on here said to use non-permanent hair color (esp if u dye ur hair often) So I used Natural Essence (with all the natural ingredients and stuff non permanent and suppose to blend with your natural hair color) I dyed it black, and it's been black for like... gosh 5 mts, I dont think its ever coming out Im finally happy with my hair color try it out, and it's also healthier looking I swear by it

Maybe they used a demipermanent dye at the salon which sometimes washes out faster. I'd ask for a permanent color and start using a professional color extending shampoo and conditioner.

It all depends on what products you are using on your hair after you dye it.
All color will eventually fade out of your hair if it's sem-permenant 5-8 weeks you should get it redyed
don't wash your hair everyday, the color will wash out quicker.
try not to use a lot of products on your hair.

Oh my gosh, I'm going through the SAME thing with mine. I have tried different dyes & nothing seems to work. Like you, I even went to a salon and had it done - to no avail. I have NO idea, but I can sympthaize with you.

are you dying it when its clean? for some reason dye holds better when your hair has lots of natural oils in it. most people do it about 48 hours after their last shower, you may need to wait a little longer.
