VolunteerMatch is a great place to look for volunteering opportunities. Most of the opportunities are for individuals, but there are some group opportunities. Also, you can use this to see which organizations are involving volunteers, and to contact them directly to see if you can particpate as a group.

When you contact any organization, you will need to let them know:
- what day your group is available to volunteer
- what time of day
- how many people will be in their group, and their EXACT ages
- if you can take care of gathering parental signatures on approval agreements/liability releases
- if you can provide supervision for the young people during their service (who ensures the safety of these young people?)
- if you can provide transporation for these young people to the service site
- if there are any special needs (are there any students needing particular accommodations, such as ramps, vegetarian meals, etc.)

State parks, animal shelters, arts organizations, schools, environmental organizations and sports-focused associatons are all great places to start looking. Habitat for Humanity is also a great organization to contact.

Definitely try calling an animal shelter. They might have you help clean cages, feed animals or just show animals some love & attention.
