I'm looking for a good sound system to use while on the slopes, and that could stay on while worn under a hat/beanie.

I saw these and they look promising but they don't look like they'll sustain under extreme movement.

Earphones in a stylish hat but does it work well?

Or, should normal earphones or ones like Sony EX71SL work just fine? I heard the music is good from these.

Any suggestions or recommendations? I'm thinking of these as a gift, so any feedback is appreciated.

Most people say the best ones are Skullcandy headphones:

I would really suggest headphones built into a helmet - like the Giro Fuse with built in speakers. You can get good volume, a mute button and very ruged construction that will protect the speakers as well as your head!

ok well i have been snowboarding for just about 3 years and in that little time i have picked up on the sport really fast and also learned alot in the process. 1 important think that i learned when i was in colorado was that earbuds suck for snowboarding i had so much trouble with them, from falling out when i was going fast or doing a trick. Since then i purchased skullcandy icon which you can find at www.skullcandy.com. After taking them on a test run i found that i loved them they stay on, there easy to take off when trying to hear you friend and above all they have great sound and there only about $30. Also you see all the pros in freestyle vibs weiring them so.... you know there good.

hope this helps i def would say get the skullcandy not earbudes!

Falling on a similar time as getting off the carry is mostly a robust place to start. the main suitable is boarding down the mountain, observing the lady of your goals, then ending with a dandy face plant. as quickly as lady stops guffawing, she'll come over after which you will insert your corny p.c.. up line and you're off!
