I had my debit card stolen...and someone used it...most likely someone i knew because you need the pin number. Someone really instrust worthy they spent like $300 on it so i called bank of america to get my money back because i didnt spent that. They sent me some afadavit that i have to sign and send back to them. They temporarly placed teh funds back in my account. What is the process they take to do this? Do they actually catch the crimminal or what? because they were tlelling me if i falsly claimed that i didnt do this that it or they dont find out who charged my card. That they could press crimminnal charges on me. But i didnt do these charges im jsut not paying for something i didnt pay for...

So how do they go about doing this process?
Will it stop being a temp amount and I get my money back?
Will they ever find out who did it?

Fill out the paper work. The bank will conduct an investigation and possibly identify the culprit. Their investigation will include comparing documents(signatures if applicable) and contacting the businesses where the unauthorized purchases were made. One of the businesses may have surveillance cameras or an employee who remembers the encounter. That's basically what the investigation will entail. In all likelihood, they wont find the person, but at least you get your money back. Be sure you are prepared to prosecute whomever, because its one of the stipulations they have with refunding your money.

FYI
You don't need pin numbers to make a charge on a debit/check card. The person could have told them to just run the purchase as a credit charge. In this instance all they have to do is sign your name. .

Besides filing out the paperwork for the bank, you should contact the police and make a police report.
