We just picked up a beautiful curio to refinish for my daughter for Christmas. The glass is missing from 2 of the panels though. What kind of shop would I inquire at to have some curved? Any thoughtsw on how much it is likely to cost?

The piece would be about 12" X 42".

You can do this yourself actually. Plexi will get quite malleable at temperatures as low as 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Rrecumbent bicyclists "blow" their own windscreens in their basements with space heaters and insulation board found in any home supply store. You need a form or some way of knowing when you have the desired bend and there you go you have your own replacement.

I have only heard of manufacturers bending plexi-glass. This is usually done by putting heated plexiglass into a mold, then allowed to cool. The size will determine how flexible the piece will be and how much bend is needed. The smaller the piece, the less flexibility it will have. Good luck.

No idea on cost, but if you can find a plastics fabrication place, you'll be golden. Clear acrylic makes a good replacement glass and can be bent by heating.
