Is this for a class party or donating foods to other families.
Non perishable implies foods that don't require refrigeration.

For in-class snacks, cookies, carrot sticks, Chex Mix, chips

For donations, pasta, canned goods, rice.

Nothing that can spoil when left out for more than an hour. No mayo, stay away from 'raw' butter (not put into cookies or cakes) A lot of kids have nut & other allergies, so send along a note with ingredients for the teacher. Chex mix is a good think, jello jigglers, may be too mooshy after an hour or so. See what the kid likes & figure out the 1 hour rule from there! Good luck!
