Mexican War - A war (1846-1848) between the United States and Mexico, resulting in the cession by Mexico of lands now constituting all or most of the states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado. Is that what you are looking for?
Spanish-American War - A war between Spain and the United States in 1898, as a result of which Spain ceded Puerto Rico, the Philippine Islands, and Guam to the United States and abandoned all claim to Cuba, which became independent in 1902. Or is this what you are looking for?
Spanish can refer to MANY different countries and places. Be more specific.

'A war'. Get a grip, it's an internet site and notorious for how poor it is. I don't even post in the Spanish section, other than very occasionally. I simply like La Liga, that bit more than I like the PL, which is also enjoyable. Is there something wrong with that? Yid Army - erm, I state that I watch both La Liga and PL, which is the truth. I also state I have a slight preference for La Liga, again the truth. And I say I rarely post in the Spanish section, the truth once more. Surely if I was a troll I wouldn't say I enjoy the PL, would I? Logic isn't your strong point. You seem to have a problem with the truth, you deluded monstrosity. Stop following me around you know-nothing cretin. If I say that Arsenal Invincibles and United 1999 are better than the current Barcelona will you stop behaving like a wee lassie? Troglodyte. You don't even know what a little-Englander is FFS. You're clearly a daftie.

The English are not the Americans.
The Spanish are not the Mexicans.
In 1588 Spain launched a naval attack against Britain. the 'Invincible Armada" was defeated. The roots of the controversy go back to Henry VIII 's divorce of Catherine of Aragon (Catalina in spanish), severing an alliance between the two nations.

I hate to state the obvious.. but what about the Spanish- American war?
You should be able to Wiki that name and get all the info you need.
*edit* I just realized.. my American ignorance ignored the obvious again.. Spain and England had a lot of disagreements during the 1500's that culminated in the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588. The name of the war escapes me - but just Wiki 'Spanish Armada' and you'll read all about Queen Elizabeth of England and King Phillip of Spain.
