I dreamt that my partner and I were renovating this huge old house and neither of us had much enthusiasm for it. The odd thing is throughout this dream there was a terrible smell which I traced to a huge dead snake which was under the floor. I pulled the snake out from under the floor and cut into it and all this gunk came out of it. I remember the dream very clearly - smell included! I just wonder if anyone can interpret it for me

Your dream means that you and your partner redoing or renovating some issues in your life and you are going through some changes. The huge snake represents some issues prior to your renovation which died off as a result of the change. Under the floor represent that this was a issue which was covered up and hidden. But the issues was so bad that even covered up and dead it makes it's presence known. Cutting into snake represents the dissecting the issues and the gunk represents the ugliness of it.

The snake represented a long term threat, or bad news, which, because it was under the floor boards, had been suppressed for a period of time.
The fact that the snake was dead showed that the threat had temporarily passed, but that the smelly stuff was a reminder of a need to be vigilant in the future.
The dream could have been associated with almost any event in your lifetime, but one which will have been recently playing on your mind.
