Every night I catch this same creep digging through my trash, rummaging through the bag and pilfering various items......I have taken some picture of him doing this.......what should i do? What would you do? It makes me sick and i'm afraid they might find something in there.

Who says a homeless person won't steal your identity?

Rig your trash can so that it sets the contents ablaze when you press a button.

Okay first of all, you should notify the police, because whoever it is could be looking for different things to steal your identity. This is a very serious and disturbing problem, that should be taken care of immediatley. In fact that person might not only be going through your trash, but other peoples as well. A good thing to do would be to wait until the morning time to take your trash out, that way he want be prowling around.

first of all,is he homeless?Maybe he is looking for food, maybe hes'not all there(mentally wise).Have you tried to ask him not to go through your trash? And you sid that you are afraidthat he will something in your trash>All you should have in your trash is trash.Whats the big deal?Try talking to him, maybe you can reason with him or maybe you can help him in some way.Whateveryou do don't go out there with a gun, ignore that comment. That wasn't good advice at all.Thats how people end up hurt or even dead. And all the police are going to do is tell him not go through your trash anymore.I strongly believe that everything is a sign and that we should help everyone that needs help.Who knows you might be in a situation that you require help from someone.Don't ever under estimate the power.

Unfortunately digging through trash is not illegal, just creepy. You might want to keep your trash in at night (garage or back hall) and bring it out only on the morning of collection.

Be careful and shred ANYTHING with personal info on it. Digging in peoples trash is one way crooks can steel your identity and ruin your life.

Start putting a full dinner on top and write a note asking them not to dig to deep...lol

Or you can call the police or a homeless shelter.

Its sad that you would worry over this when that person worries over if they will find something to eat from your garbage!

charge him or stop throwing out good stuff ,
at least he is helping t keep the land fills down
just ask him to leave it tidy
you threw it out so why do you still care about what you have done away with.
good luck to him
and feel sorry for him ,that he has sunk that low.

And how can you steal trash ,they will laugh you out of court

Yeah, they are saving the environment and recycling. I would call your city hall because there may be an ordinance against such practice. I'm sure they will know where to guide you. I hate trash, and I hate trash on my lawn. Go, Girl!

Make sure you have nothing important in there then get a product called Dykem High Spot Blue and smear it on every thing in there. He won't be back because this stuff is hard to remove.

How about watch him from your window but leave one of those fake cans of peanuts there, the ones where when you open them a giant snake jumps out and it makes a loud noise.

That would be funny...

I think I might have one of those cans upstairs actually if you will like to borrow it, as long as I can watch too! ^_^

Well, if you have a back yard or somewhere that you can put your trash can until pick up time, I suggest that you store it there. If your can is inaccessible then it's not too likely that he'll be going through it.
