I just got a mind-bendingly smart answer to my last question!!!!
We keep getting our content deleted but we're NOT ALLOWED TO FACE OUR ACCUSERS!!! Why NOT?!
Most of us (of all positions on illegal immigration) believe that the dweebs doing the reporting are setting up fake accounts, reporting what they can, then canceling those accounts and setting up new ones.
If they knew they'd have to reach level 2, FIRST, they would NOT BOTHER!!!! Too much trouble, take your mischief elsewhere.
And those who report abuse more than 1 out of, say, every 4 answers should be FLAGGED! Right next to their avatars.
Your thoughts?

From these answers, it's clear that both sides are getting hit hard by this silliness. I think it should be VERY limited to all users and not permitted at all to Level 1. But, as some said, their are case of extreme abuse. Surely something could be done to root those out. Dunno.

Not a bad idea. Or here's another thought (it just came to me after I answered your other question, and read the answer that prompted this question) ... What if the # of reports allowed per user reflected your level, just like the # of questions & answers allowed. None at lev 1, 2 at lev 2, 5 at lev 3, etc. That way, long time users would be able to be more judicious on the borderline cases from experience, and those with only 1 or 2 reports available to them would have to use them wisely.
Edit: To one for the doctor... there are times it is needed. I once reported a post that someone put up describing, how do I put it, an explicitly graphic description of a pedophile act and murder. It was in 3 different categories, all dissappeared rather quickly. There are emergencies... especially when there are kids 13, 14, 15 on here. They shouldn't be exposed to that garbage.

I thought that was toning down. Funny to get reported for a vitamin answer or Bible answer, all documented and true. One person a couple of weeks ago was reported and asked should I tag them all? Since this thing goes all over the world it doesn't matter to many and not the same rights. As far as locals that do it for the same reason, it seems that what goes around comes around and that when attacked people begin to rally. Then you have alliances formed.
You never know it it's two people in a dorm or in a small town that communicate, but one thing for sure if it gets going again Yahoo will end up with no one on here and cannot charge for the ads they run when ever you answer a question and they lose revenue.
Funny about the fellow that asked why am I reported and asked about tagging all of them, i went to the site and 90% jor more of the deals there were people asking "Why' or "What did I do". So when it hits Yahoo they may take a better look until then you have to go the route of the multiplu computer deals and finally get someone and have it fixed.
Then again if they get hit due to the alliances then the war is on and where there is tyranny there is liberty! ONe thing for sure Yahoo needs to check on it and people need to send e-mails. JUst like not many knowing athey can go back and vote for their answer after it goes into community voting. NOrmally one answer had been getting it and that answer had like 2 thumbs up and 8 thumbs down and the rest were many thumbs up so that tells you what type was doing that.
Hang in there. You can always e-mail other people and see if they are having the smae problem and try and figure out who is doing it. Say it they are removed and it stops, then you know who is doing it. Take care. YOu can also make your net privte for a while and scope out the answerers.

Yes that would be an idea. Some people never make it past level one tho thanks to reporters. I've read some questions from certain people that were just funny and they get reported but then some write really rude ones and they stay. I have a level one account right now because of reporters and half the time I'm afraid to use THIS account at level 4. Which I only use for thumbs up or down. It's actually becoming more of a pain than it's worth. So YEA! all my little ones Dog Tricks is about to leave the building. LOL

I totally agree with "steddy voter", and with your suggestion too. I have reported only once and that was when the question was pretty sexually explicit and obviously aimed at young girls. I am all for freedom of speech and the right to respond to detractors, but I draw the line at what appears to be sexual exploitation of the young. I would rather be wrong than let it go, but in this particular case I believe I did the right thing. What has surprised me (and this may be blocked) is how PC YA is and yet the sexual content, particularly on boards aimed at the younger element are so explicit. I am no prude but some posts have made my jaw drop!

i agree. i just got off work this morn and discovered my account has been suspended. i think the flag needs to be removed. i lost all those points. if people can't handle what is being said then they should not even come to this site. i don't report because i know how it feels to lose your account. i fully believe in freedom of speech. i don't always agree with what is said, but i don't report.

I agree, I am PRO, but I feel Antis have the same right as myself to post without concern of it being deleted...further I WANT to hear Anti's opinion (as well as our own)...THAT"S WHY i got on yahoo answers in the first place!!!....were all adults here...and if were SO American ...well, let's exercise some free speech, and listen to our opinons

i believe that we should have the ability to block another but delete their questions are alittle out left field.. we do have the rights to voice our opinions. and I still think that the board is breaking our rights by deleting our questions or even our answers..

Agreed. It would be like getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar. And hopefully less likely to report.

I think the Level 2 thing is a great idea.
Also they could put a limit on the number of times they/we could "report abuse" per month. That limit could go up with each level.

The old boards were fine, except for being non-policed to where anything at all could be said. Now we are in a police state.
