Can I claim the child this April, baby will only be 1 month old, or do I have to wait until next tax season.

No because when you file in April it is for the previous year and you didn't have the baby then.

You have to wait. The tax return you file in April will be for 2007, and the baby won't be born until 2008 so you can't claim him/her for 2007.

If you have the baby in '08, you'll have to wait til Jan. '09 to claim the child on your taxes.
Your earnings must be calculated from Jan. 1st thru Dec. 31st. Any benefit from events occuring during the year, like getting married or having children, only help when you start filing your taxes the following year.
April 15th is only the deadline for '07 taxes.

Nope. The baby would have to be born before Dec. 31, 2007 to claim this year.
