Then he's not doing his job.

What did he want you to look up? Most or all or the recruiters want recruits. If recruiters don't get recruits they don't get their points for the month and could lose their jobs and extra pay. It reads like he made his or her quota for the month and was stalling for next months quota. Call the recruiter back and say you did not understand the question or better yet go to the office and ask questions, but do not sign anything, just get the information. Take the information home and read it carefully. If you do not understand anything ask questions of either that recruiter or another one, still do not sign anything. Only when you are sure of all the facts and all questions answered do you sign.

Look what up on the internet?

There must be some question, either that or you are not telling us all that this recruiter said.

Maybe he wasn't a recruiter ans was just mopping the floor?

At any rate we need more info.

Time to talk to another recruiter

ASVAB scores transfer over and are just adjusted for the branch you're applying for. So go talk to another recruiter or better yet... go to https://www.goarmy.com/ and click on "ask a question" link or ":chat with a recruiter". Explain to them your dilemma and tell them what your recruiter said... you'll get a call from them in a very short period of time!

Go to his office. You will have to take an ASVAB test, fill out paperwork etc. You can fill out a form on www.goarmy.com but it is just a generic form that gets sent to your local recruiter.

That's all he told you? Hmmmmm, basically they go all day to tell you what you have to do. The 1st step is that you have to take the ASVAB test. If you score high enough, then they would arrange you to get a physical, and you would then meet with military job liaison to pick the jobs you are after. And then you swear in. I hope that helped!
