My best friend has two girls - 7 and 9. If the 7 year-old is my flower girl, what can the 9 year-old do? I don't want her to feel left out.

Great question, I'm having the same dilemna. My little sister will be 10 when I marry next year and I'm struggling as to what to do. I feel a junior bridesmaid is a bit above her level, while a flower girl may be below. I'm considering having her be the ring-bearer (she's a tomboy too so I don't want to make her wear a froofy dress). You didn't mention having a ring-bearer, this may be an option for you. Of course, it's not tradtional so perhaps it may not work for you.

Having two flower girls could also work. Each one could have a different flower or different colors of the same flower. It would make the aisle pretty too.

The 9 year old can do a number of things. She can be a second flower girl ( i agree that would be very adorible). If you don't have a ring bearer picked out yet, there is nothing saying that a girl cannot be a ring bearer, there is also the junior bridesmaid (though that would be a lot of pressure on her.) She could help pass out bulletins or programs, if you are having anything passed out at the end of the ceremony i.e: rice in little bags, bubbles... whatever you are having.

I would recommend including her somehow in the official up-front wedding party (either as a second flower girl, a junior bridesmaid, or one of the other suggestions). If she is not in the official wedding party and her sister is, she may feel left out. It is never quite as fun to be a program-passer-outer, reader, or candlelighter (especially from a 9-year-olds perspective). She will feel more included if she has a matching dress, gets to stand on stage with the wedding party, and gets to be in all the wedding party pictures.

And 9 is not too old for a flower girl -- it's the upper end, but it's not too old. Just choose a dress that is not too frilly and floofy. :)

Well if you want a traditional wedding you only have room for one. But since there are two little ones in my opinion it would be adorable two have to flower girls. It will also display the love that you have for your friend and her girls. You could also do a "behind the curtain" thing for the 9 year old. You could ask her to do something special for you. How about she write something about you and your future husband. And maybe she could read it the day of the wedding. That way she is included but in a different way. Or how about asking her, if she would to play a small role. She might not want to... Good luck!

She could be a flower girl, or a Junior bridesmaid, or even the ring bearer if you don't have a young boy for that role. She could help carry any ceremonial items (cup, goblet, candle, rings, Bible, etc), or could possibly even perform small ceremonial roles (such as lighting a candle, if you think she is ready). Also, she could pass out favors to the wedding guests at the reception. Girls that age really love to help!

I think having the two sisters as your flower girls would be adorable! Flower girls aren't just little 3 and 4 year olds anymore.

I think a junior bridesmaid is just a little bit above her level... but all in all, its your decision.

Congrats and good luck!

I think that depending on her maturity level, allowing her to be a junior bridesmaid would make her feel really special. If this is not an option for you I would suggest that you have another important role in the ceremony. Last year at my cousins wedding I was a "candle lighter". She could be yours and another young person from your finance's side could light candles as a part of the ceremony.

I think 2 flower girls is cuter than a junior bridesmaid. I think she would probably be more comfortable being a junior bridesmaid if she was like 12 or 13.

Mohammed married her while she became 6 and had intercourse along with her while she became 9. Her call became Aisha and he or she tells her tale interior the Hadiths. Muslims will attempt to disclaim this however the evidence is applicable of their sacred texts. each and every of the evidence factors that she became 9 while Mohammed consummated the marriage. curiously, in Islam if a woman menstruates she is a girl as a result any guy could have intercourse along with her.

She could walk down the aisle with the flower girl. I think that would be pretty cute to see them both as flower girls. Or Junior birdesmaid isn't a bad idea, she could walk with your maid of honor.
